About the Position

You are looking for somewhere to embed and have a secure and successful career with an appetite in what is happening in the regulatory framework and cross border experience. Of course, you will come from a life background, work closely with the head of function and independently manage the function. Strong AML/Governance/oversight experience is needed. Responsibilities will include branch oversight and monitoring of key controls.  This is a broad role and the successful candidate must be willing to move into a PCF 52 role within 9 to 12 months so there is plenty of scope for growth. 

Key Responsibilities

  • To draft the annual compliance plan, based on risk analysis, which addresses both ongoing compliance risks in the business and new regulatory developments To report on progress to plan on an ongoing basis.
  • Responsible for development, execution and maintenance of internal AML/CFT policies and programme,
  • Conduct annual risk assessment, ensuring controls are implemented to mitigate risk and ensuring on-going compliance with regulatory and Group AML/CFT requirements
  • Provide risk-based oversight of third-parties, outsourcers and service providers to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, SLAs and company standards.
  • Working closely with Head of Compliance to provide oversight and support to the company branches (FOE) and the freedom of services (FOS) business.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on AML/CFT regulatory compliance matters
  • To design and oversee compliance related testing & monitoring of key controls, assess the control environment, prepare reports with findings and agree action plans with the management team.
  • Perform regular risk assessments of the Compliance programs 
  • To ensure documentation of the Integrated Risk and Control System (“IRCS”) is updated and maintained according to the company standard.
  • To keep abreast of regulatory changes and oversee the regulatory change management program, ensuring timely assessment and implementation of new requirements.
  • To identify issues that give rise to breaches of compliance and / or control failings and follow up on the remediation actions until the risk to the Company is mitigated to an acceptable level.
  • To contribute to the identification, development and coordination of the establishment and maintenance of appropriate company policies, procedures and systems required to comply with applicable legislative and regulatory provisions and manage the Company’s risks.
  • To act as a point of contact for assessing ongoing compliance and provide support and advice to various business areas within the Company.
  • To assist in the coordination of regulatory interactions, including with the Central Bank of Ireland (CBI), submission of regulatory reports, notifications and approval requests in a timely manner.
  •  To support the development and roll out of the compliance training and awareness plan to ensure Company staff has sufficient training and support to enable them to fully discharge their responsibilities in a compliant manner

Experience/Requirements

  • Relevant degree qualification in law, accountancy, business or similar.
  • ACOI Compliance qualification preferable
  • 7+ years compliance, audit, risk or similar experience in the financial services sector.
  • Strong Compliance or non-financial risk management background.
  • Posses strong knowledge of AML regulatory environment Knowledge of Consumer Protection legislation (e.g. IDD and PRIIPs).
  • Analytical project management skills
  • Comprehensive knowledge of life insurance / unit-linked products and cross border markets (FOE and FOS basis).Experience with Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) tools advantage.

Remuneration Package

This is a perm role, hybrid working model. Salary is €80 to €90k DOE with benefits.
