Key Responsibilities

• Work on assigned procurement projects to achieve business strategy. Contribute to the enhancement of processes and policies pertaining to procurement within the business.
• Review third party spends within the business unit and agree measures to achieve the greatest commercial results while ensuring compliance with Procurement Policy.
• Support all staff involved in Renewable Energy for procurement of goods, services and works, with strong emphasis on customer service, value for money and compliance with EU Directives, and our internal procurement policy and procedures;
• Agree the best procurement process with Procurement Manager and spend owners and run procurement processes in conjunction with the team. Prepare and review procurement documentation and participate fully in the negotiation with suppliers throughout the procurement process.
• Ensure compliance with shareholder guidelines, regulation, and company procurement policy.
• Continuously improve the control environment working within the business unit and internal audit to facilitate an annual procurement compliance report to the Risk & Audit committee of the Board and the Chairman's statement of compliance to the shareholder
• Proactively participate in the Performance Management process to ensure delivery of own, and the wider team's objectives

Experience/Requirements

• Honours Degree (NFQ 8) in relevant procurement or business discipline. Procurement professional certifications preferable
• 5 years’ experience in procurement; Knowledge of EU Utilities’ Directive: Working knowledge of E-tenders an advantage
• Strong communication and influencing skills; Knowledge in Utility / Operations /Manufacturing sector an advantage
• A strong team player with the ability to work collaboratively
