About the Company

Our client provides its clients with specialist services across Irish company law, company secretarial & corporate governance along with tax and accounting advisory services. Core to their company and team values are trust, dependability, simplicity, and integrity. This has been the bedrock of their continued success and continued growth in Ireland.

We are now looking to appoint a Chief Operating Officer (COO), reporting directly into the CEO.  This is a newly created role, and the COO will be a key support, right-hand person to the CEO. The ideal candidate will have very strong organisational and leadership skills and an innate ability to approach their business and B2B clients with an innovation, value-add commercial lens.


About the Position

The COO will help lead the operational efficiency and scalable growth of our professional services business and will have have a proven track record and demonstrated experience of building trusted relationships, an ability to work collaboratively with senior stakeholders and to lead a team to deliver a positive client and talent experience. A team player that looks to harness a team’s competitive edge, able to work constructively and effectively with cross functional teams and aim to achieve best in class processes that will enable the firm to future proof and further scale. 


Key Responsibilities 

  • Collaborate with CEO in setting and driving organizational vision, operations strategy, and hiring strategies.
  • Translate strategy into actionable steps for growth, implementing organisation-wide goal setting, divisional and companywide KPIs, performance management, and annual operations planning
  • Leadership of the business operations team comprising Accounting & Tax, Corporate Governance, Sales, Marketing and HR, to drive operational improvements, promote a strong sense of company culture and values and support the efficient delivery of the Company’s Strategic Plan.
  • Enhancing the leadership capability by ensuring a focus on coaching and developing members of the management team focusing on their technical, commercial, and personal development.
  • Evaluate performance across all areas of the business by monitoring and interpreting key performance indicators.
  • Analyse internal operations, look at gap analyses and identify areas for process enhancement and improvements.
  • Manage capital investments and expenses to ensure that the company achieves commercial targets for growth and profitability
  • Participating in expansion activities including supporting the effective integration of new services to clients.
  • Promote growth of key client accounts through upselling and cross selling of services
  • Ensure compliance with national and local business regulations and take appropriate action when necessary.


The successful candidate will be a commercially astute, ambitious, and confident self-starter seeking a fresh challenge. Someone who has natural entrepreneurial skill sets, who enjoys working in a scaling SME and can balance leading out the day-to-day tactical operational management and long-term strategy.
  • Has recent relevant experience in one or more of the key operational areas of Operations, Finance, Technical Services, or Marketing and experience in a senior leadership role ideally within a professional services / B2B services environment.
  • Senior stakeholder management skills with an ability to quickly establish trust and credibility with different stakeholders
  • Strong communicator and decision-making skills, able to balance conflicting priorities and interests.
  • Natural people leader, who enjoys developing and mentoring teams
  • Able to challenge status quo when needed and in the best interest of the firm.
  • Experience in leading cross functional teams while simultaneously delivering multiple priorities and projects
  • Team player with strong commercial expertise and excellent business acumen and a strong client centric focus
  • Client centric and service-oriented approach with the ability to build and foster trusted relationships with team members, client, and other stakeholders
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with an aptitude for decision making and problem solving
  • Highly motivated and goal driven with a positive and collaborative approach to work
  • A self-starter with a commercial and pragmatic outlook and an ability to work well under pressure, be hands on when needed.
  • Ability to contribute to the overall growth and management of the company
