Senior Financial Accountant

About the Company

My client a global provider of specialty lines insurance and reinsurance, based in Central Dublin, are recruiting a Financial Accountant within their Group Finance team.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a team where you will have lots of variety and exposure including internal, Regulatory & Statutory Reporting, Ledger Close, Balance Sheet reviews and Analytics, FP&A, Capital Management and Project work as required. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for delivery of assigned responsibilities for Monthly and Quarterly US GAAP close functions.
  • Quarterly Balance Sheet Reviews and analytics.
  • Issue resolution and liaison with upstream operations and underwriting teams for process improvement.
  • Address queries arising from various departments including Corporate, Treasury, Segment Finance and Legal Entity Controllers.
  • Continuous review of current processes to identify opportunities for standardization or transformation.
  • Quarterly and ad-hoc legal entity financial analysis for circulation to key stakeholders across the business.
  • Quarterly Board and Executive Management meeting finance presentations.
  • Legal entity annual operating budgets, 3 year strategic plans and projected balance sheets.
  • Irish and UK GAAP quarterly reporting.
  • Financial Statements preparation and review.
  • Support the production of the Finance input to the quarterly and annual Solvency II returns including Statutory ledger close and reconciliation.
  • Support the production of annual narrative reports (Solvency & Financial Condition Report and RegulatorySupervisory Report) for submission to the CBI.

Experience/Requirements

  • Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with minimum 3 years post qualified experience.
  • Previous accounting / audit experience within the Insurance / reinsurance industry.
  • Good understanding of Irish GAAP, IFRS and US GAAP reporting requirements.
  • Solvency II reporting experience.
  • Good understanding of SOX compliance requirements with respect to financial reporting processes.

Remuneration Package

  • Salary €75,000-€85,000
  • Bonus 15%
  • Pension 12.5%
  • Health Insurance
