Regulatory Operations Manager
About the Company
Cross border insurance company with circa 100 people in Dublin. Part of a leading Northern European financial services company.
About the Position
The role will interact with the Compliance, Operations, Risk, Legal, Customer Service and IT departments - acting as a link between Regulatory Operations in projects such as process improvement, product or regulatory changes, deliveries and new releases/initiatives. Join a team of 2 with a lot of interaction, this is very much a hands on role and will suit someone with a strong AML background. The role sits in the 1st line.
Key Responsibilities
A solid understanding of the regulatory environment and an ability to understand and interpret new/existing regulatory requirements.
Ability to assess the applicability of new and existing regulatory requirements and to oversee their implementation within the business.
Must be a ‘hands on’ manager who will work with all administrative and reporting tasks.
Support the AML5 Improvement Plan, including training, advice, periodic reviews, best practice and company instruction updates etc.
Support the AML & Sanctions Operative Responsible (Head of Regulatory Operations) in the preparation of the annual Risk Assessments on Financial Sanctions, Product & Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing.
Assist the Data Protection Responsible (Head of Regulatory Operations) with various tasks pertaining to General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
First line oversight of PEP, Financial Sanctions and FCRM (Financial Crime Risk Management - transaction monitoring) alert handling, including the management of technical queries
Conduct FATCA, CRS & DAC6 robust quarterly controls and prepare quarterly and annual submission to tax authorities.
Assist in the preparation of AML KRIs which are reported on a monthly and quarterly basis
Prepare and perform quality checks to meet Spanish, Belgian and Italian monthly and annual fiscal and regulatory reporting obligations.
Participation in various AML, Financial Crime Prevention (FCP) and Sanctions Group projects and working groups
Management responsibility for one direct report
Ad hoc projects as required
Experience/Requirements
Relevant third level degree
Must be adept with advanced skills in MS office suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
Ability to write reports and prepare presentations to an executive standard
Highly motivated and independent and able to operate with minimal supervision and as part of a team
Presentation skills with ability to engage an audience, communicate comfortably and clearly and articulate with visual aids
Proven ability to work to multiple tight deadlines
Good analytical and problem-solving abilities
A high degree of accountability, with strong decision-making skills and strong interpersonal and collaborations skills with peers and colleagues.
Knowledge and understanding of regulatory requirements for the Life Insurance Industry
Previous experience working on AML design and implementation including systems, policies, processes, procedures, governance related issues and/or end-to-end operating models, is an advantage

Perm role, hybrid working (3/2), salary €50 - €60k plus benefits package applies.
