The successful candidate will be responsible for the development and implementation of the Group data strategy, engaging with key stakeholders to ensure the strategy has strong commercial and customer focus, encompassing areas such as data architecture, governance and management.
You will drive data as a strategic asset for our business and enable the usage and consumption of data to inform decision making and to improve the customer and patient experience.
In this role you will ensure central enablement and oversight of business led data related activity to drive innovation, continuous improvement and efficiency gains. The Head of Data will also be responsible for the data governance and management framework of the Group and its operational success.
Key responsibilities will include but not are limited to:

oster the creation of a data driven culture, related competencies and data literacy across the organisation.
Build relationships to understand data challenges and opportunities from each business function, integrating findings into the development and continuous improvement of the enterprise information management strategy.
Work with stakeholders to develop the Group data strategy and vision to utilise data as a key business asset with relevant KPI’s.
Identify global data trends across the industry providing insights to the leadership team, driving innovation and continuous improvement through the use of our data.
Establish robust data architecture to accommodate current requirements and evolving requirements, flexible enough to support future target state data architecture with respect to cloud and on-premise.
Develop data capabilities to achieve operational improvements enabling new or improved forms of decision making and execution based on trusted, consistent data supporting the delivery of tailored, timely experiences to our customers and patients.
Embed best practices, establishing a center of excellence team to drive data related innovation, tooling, and analytical support across the organisation.
Ensure our data governance framework is integrated and consistent with risk and control environments
Accountable for compliance with regulations, standards and codes of good practice relating to data. Understand the implications of regulatory and compliance changes related to data.
Develop organisational policies, standards, and guidelines for data management, aligned with ethical principles.
Reduce costs resulting from multiple data programs across various functions within the organisation.
As a member of the GTO Management team provide leadership and contribute to the implementation of strategic, organisational and operational goals and objectives; while contributing positively to a culture that enables people to do their best work in an enjoyable working environment and deliver results
Required skills / criteria
5+ years in a senior leadership role leading data programmes in multiple stakeholder environments, with responsibility for developing and embedding a data strategy with a minimum degree level qualification in Data, IT or other related discipline. Formal qualification in agile / lean methodologies desirable
Strong technical knowledge base to enable the provision of leadership to cross functional teams and enterprise wide data programmes, operating and influencing effectively across the organisation.
Experience of Integrating complex processes and information strategies, and design of strategic metrics and scorecards that add value to business decision making and delivery of organisation strategy.
Proven data literacy with a comprehensive understanding of data sources and constructs, analytical methods and techniques.
Information strategy experience in technology planning and execution, policy development and maintenance.
Ability to effectively drive business, culture and technology change in a dynamic complex operating environment.
Excellent business acumen with an ability to understand and problem solve taking the broader business context into consideration.
Ability to develop frameworks for information and analytics governance and embed it in all levels of the business
Experience of operating and influencing at senior leadership levels with demonstrable integrity, competence and delivery bias.
Well versed in building teams, developing relationships and making a positive impact across a multi-layered organization.
Deep knowledge of data governance, regulatory and compliance considerations.
Knowledge of cloud data warehousing desirable.
Knowledge of AWS or similar cloud technologies desirable.
Knowledge of real-time data warehousing and streaming technologies (such as Kafka) desirable.
Strong change management knowledge with a deep understanding of the impacts from a people, process and technology perspective is desirable.
Exceptional ability to work across business functions at a senior level to influence and effect change in order to achieve common goals; including building strong relationships and managing stakeholder expectations.
Experienced in building high performing teams with an ability to interact effectively across multiple areas in the organisation.
Excellent oral, written and presenting communication skills, including the ability to explain digital concepts and technologies to diverse audiences across the organisation.
