Due to growth of the team and new client wins, they're seeking to appoint a Tax Senior to work with the tax team to deliver excellent client service. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and reviewing tax computations and tax returns, dealing with reporting deadlines as they fall due and managing client relationships on a daily basis.
Their client base has a large number of US Technology companies who are expanding internationally as well as some sizable home grown Irish businesses.
About the Position
Key Responsibilities
- The successful candidate’s role will involve assisting with the tax compliance requirements for our portfolio of clients. The role will include, but is not limited to;
- Liaising with clients with regards to their tax requirements across the main tax heads, Income Tax, Corporation Tax, and VAT.
- Active involvement in client meetings, where they will learn to prepare detailed tax notes and concisely and confidently answer client queries.
- Corresponding with the Revenue Commissioners on behalf of the clients.
- Analysing and reviewing company financial statements in order to prepare tax computations and identify tax planning opportunities.
- Preparing tax research memos for the tax and wider corporate teams.
- Working on topical tax bulletins for the company’s website.
- Dealing with the on boarding requirements of new clients.
- You will be part of growing tax compliance and advisory team and shall have responsibility for managing and reviewing work performed by a pool of supporting team members from our global service centre and local accounting team. You will also be involved in tax advisory projects where research and fact finding will be of critical importance.
- The candidate will work within a cohesive tax team and develop their career by learning from the current managers and directors across the business. They will be encouraged to develop their tax technical knowledge by regularly undertaking tax specific CPD and qualifications as required.
Experience/Requirements
- Minimum of 3-4 years working for an accounting firm with a strong corporate tax client base either as an accountant or a tax professional (part qualified/qualified accountant/ tax professional with an interest in continuing their career in taxation.
- Fluent in Microsoft Office, working knowledge of Accounting and Tax software, ROS, SAGE, Alphatax, Tax Pro
- Organized, process-driven individual with a questioning mindset and an appetite to learn. An interest in business is an advantage.
- A team player, eager to work in a cohesive unit team delivering excellent client service.
- Be able to demonstrate the ability to work on their own and on multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Have and be able to demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills
