About the Company

A facilities and Service company are looking for a Health & Safety Advisor to join the Governance, Risk & Compliance department. The Health & Safety Advisor will be responsible for developing company H&S management systems to ensure compliance. The successful candidate will provide expert advice to teams throughout the business.

About the Position

The Health & Safety Advisor will work closely with the Governance Risk & Compliance Manager to ensure H&S compliance requirements are being met in accordance with legislative regulations and guidelines. 
Within this role you will carry out new, review existing risk assessments and method statements for all required activities, ensuring databases are maintained and accessible.
Carrying out H&S audits and inspections of the organisation’s offices and sites is a key element of the role. You will also provide feedback to stakeholders on key risk areas to promote continual improvement to the organisation.
A person who has experience documenting incidents and near misses will be relevant.
The person must be able to carry out COSHH assessments for all the chemicals the employees use or come into contact with.
A person with good communication skills is important as you will liaise with and provide information to H&S regulatory bodies (HSA/HSE) when required.
You must also be competent developing and delivering H&S training and programmes.
Experience/Requirements

Within this role you will be involved in
  • Planning and overseeing Health & Safety management systems.
  • Maintaining relationships both internally and externally.
  • Knowledge of major accident hazards.
  • Managing risks.
  • Understanding Risk management methodology.
  • Health & Safety / environmental qualification essential e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH
  • Working as part of a team.
For this role you are required to have;
  • Relevant third level education.

  • Minimum 2 years work experience with Health & Safety.

  • Comfortable report writing and document preparation skills.

  • Engineering, Construction or Utilities experience is a major advantage, but not essential.

  • Full Drivers license
