About the Position

These roles offer the opportunity to work as part of a Global Centre of Excellence and deliver key projects for a global leader in the industry. Working in a diverse manufacturing environment you will collaborate with a high performing team on projects ranging from small scale ups to massive tech transfers.
We have two different roles available depending on your experience. Both are initial 23 month contracts with a view to longer term employment thereafter. On offer is a competitive salary and an excellent benefits package including the use of an on site gym. Both roles have the flexibility to offer Hybrid working arrangements.

Role 1: Primarily lab based, working on the scale up of late stage development projects. If you love working at the bench and being at the forefront of designing and implementing process development and improvement, this one is for you.
Role 2: If you prefer an office based role, working on large commercial scale up projects and Tech Transfers then this could be for you. This role involves working very closely with the Production environment.
 

Key Responsibilities

Role 1:
  • Directs and participates in process and product Life cycle and development activities. Authors and reviews process development sections of regulatory and technical documents, study reports and technology transfer documents
  • Establishes a comprehensive knowledge of the Critical Process Parameters, Critical Product Quality Attributes and Characteristics to provide SME support to the network
  • Establishes analytical methods to support biophysical, solid state and primary packaging characterisation
  • Designs, executes and documents technical studies to investigate product and process robustness, scale-up, stability and degradation pathways for therapeutic proteins
  • Represents the Process Sciences Dept on cross functional teams across the Sanofi network delivering technical expertise and knowledge providing the link between R&D and Manufacturing
  • Participates in collaborative research programs while also mentoring graduate and junior scientists helping them reach their full potential
Role 2:
  • Provide product and technical leadership to cross functional teams for tech transfer programs through scale up, for clinical & commercial product transfer for lyophilised drug products
  • Provide technical leadership & critical analysis of product during technology transfer & product lifecycycle management
  • Develop data driven strategies for process development / product characterisation
  • Provide product governance for established commercial products for new process & technology improvements, and operational support from drug products
  • Lead product investigations with strong understanding of compliance and cGMP, strong scientific judgement and leadership in decision making
  • Write, review and approve technical reports

Experience/Requirements

  • MSc (Preferably by Research) or PhD in Pharmaceutical Science, Pharmaceutical Eng., Biotechnology, Biopharmaceutics, Pharmacy with relevant industry or post-doctorate experience.
  • Strong technical knowledge in either Protein, Physical or Manufacturing Sciences
  • Hands on Experience performing product and process characterisation in a selected discipline
  • Proteins – Structural Protein Chemistry (i.e., CD, FTIR, Fluorescence, UV-VIS) and aggregation (i.e., HPLC, DLS, Archimedes, MFI)
  • Physical - Solid State (i.e., XRD, DSC, TGA, SEM, DVS)
  • Manufacturing Sciences - Pumping, Mixing, Filling, Lyophilisation and CCIT
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with Ability to influence at senior level
