Chief Operating Officer

Unique opportunity to join this fast-scaling financial services company which provides asset leasing services and bespoke credit funding products for an array of European based clients.

About the Position

The Chief Operating Officer will work closely with their transactional services team and ensure strong oversight of their operations here in Ireland. Reporting the Groups Executive Managing Director, the role of the COO is to grow the leasing businesses through innovative offerings and by working in close collaboration with the origination and structuring department. The COO will also be responsible for monitoring risk and proactively managing its positions and minimising impact on the Group’s balance sheet through refinancing and deconsolidation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in transactional services within and advisory /audit firms or currently hold a senior operational role within a leasing services or banking organisation.

Key Responsibilities with encompass 

  • Responsible for a small operations team with a dotted line report of a small finance team also.
  • Setting up of performance tools, reporting and procedures to ensure and optimizations of exiting tools and enhancements  risk portfolio management
  • Setting-up business and financial KPIs and reporting to the senior management in group.

Operations from deal approved to end of contract
  • Support Investment Committee
  • Ensure the strict application of deals conditions and compliance rules at inception and overtime by working in collaboration with local entities
  • Monitor clients’ payments and manage potential litigations
  • Support the insurance program, for their  dedicated reinsurance vehicle
  • Ensure proper onboarding of deals on to platform and correct financing through specific banking lines

Portfolio refinancing 
  • Robust follow-up of the portfolio’s refinancing state
  • Negotiation of new refinancing lines in cooperation with the Group’s head of financing
  • Implementation of Remuneration Package 

Key candidate profiles and ideal skills set
  • Strong experience in either Transactional Services department of an audit / advisory firm, as a head of Operations in from an financial services company (leasing firm or a bank) . 
  • International experience would be ideal.
  • Strong analytical, credit risk management and / or operations profile, with sold understanding of complex transactions.
  • Ability to work in a small, entrepreneurial type environment with a flexible and agile approach.
  • Strong attention to detail and an ability to provide a big picture and summarise concisely main issues at stake in a concise manner to group / senior management.
  • Natural interpersonal skills with an entrepreneurial spirit – knows how to work in a fast-moving environment, have a hands on and bigger picture style and approach.
  • Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent). Strong business / financial background.
