About the Company

Joining a fantastic well know insurance group, this is a superb Head of Finance opportunity, overseeing a large team across financial control and reporting along with a sizeable FP&A team. Ideally, you’ll have a strong background in leading out team of 10 + and enjoy leading out on change and improvement initiatives to further improve and streamline reporting cycles and value-added reports for the various business divisions of this group.
 

About the Position

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and sign-off of monthly & quarterly financial accounts for regulatory and management purposes.

  • Presentation of financial results to the various senior leadership teams   

  • Be a key partner to the senior leadership team for the business to influence decision making and find practical solutions to business problems. 

  • Providing finance expertise and input to business unit strategy plans.

  • Lead key relationships and effective engagement with external partners (auditors, banking partners)

  • Lead the financial planning process including annual budget preparation (management of the €100m+ cost base)

  • Initiate and lead innovative development of new systems and processes to meet the changing requirements and anticipated future needs of the business.

  • Lead a team to ensure sufficient resources with the necessary experience, personal development and technical support in place to implement strong financial reporting and controls.

  • Review, design and implement financial reporting and controls in accordance with group best practice to ensure appropriate financial governance is in place to meet existing and emerging risks and regulatory changes.

 

Experience/Requirements

  • Natural leader who enjoys leading out a diverse and large team of finance professionals.

  • Ability to work in a fast-moving-environment and great interpersonal skills across multi stakeholders.  required to interact with clients internally and externally.

  • Solid track record of successfully leading, coaching and managing large teams in a complex environment.

  • Commercially astute, sound technical accounting knowledge with IFRS 17 skills a benefit but not essential.

  • Strong ability in ssound decision making and ability to analyse and effectively resolve issues when they emerge.

  • Highly motivated with an ability to work on own initiative and demonstrate flexibility.

  • Excellent in communication and influencing, with the ability to simplify complex concepts and translate them into actionable objectives.

  • Capability to challenge and re-engineer practices and processes as required.

  • Have experience of developing and managing a team in the delivery of results under tight deadlines.

  • System experience such as SAP, Essbase, Tableau.

  • Qualified with ideally 10 plus year experience, ACA, ACCA< CIMA or equivalent.

  • Strong academic record
