About the Position

The Asset Delivery function within the company is responsible for the end to end planning, designing and delivery of the company’s portfolio of asset development programmes.

Encompassing the three pillars of Project Delivery Management, Design Delivery and Project Services; the Asset Delivery function brings together all the technical and project support capabilities needed to take high-level projects and programmes from the Portfolio Office and translate these through from detailed design and project planning to construction delivery and handover to Asset Operations. 
Reporting to the Project Delivery Lead (Tx Connections), the Construction Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the Construction Delivery elements of specific NSWC & DX pipeline projects issued to Asset Delivery.
You will be:

  • The main point of contact in your region.
  • Familiar with Connections Coordination, Design Delivery & Project Services.
  • Will be a point of Consultation for internal stakeholders.
  • Will oversee onsite execution of work.



Experience/Requirements
Within this role you will be involved in
  •  Responsible for leading cross functional teams in the design, planning and delivery of specified asset delivery/upgrade projects.
 
  • Responsible for coordinating with Project Delivery Lead and Portfolio Office regarding provision of all project status and KPI information.

  • Responsible for developing and maintaining project schedules.
 
  • Responsible for developing, reviewing and collating key documentation as required to progress internal project budget approvals through relevant investment governance committees, in conjunction with Portfolio Office.

  • Manage Contractors.
 
  • Liaising with external stakeholders such as Local Authorities, ESB, Eir, NPWS, TII, regarding full project lifecycle activities/agreements. Includes managing applications.

 
  • Responsible for contract management, risk mitigation and change control, per project/programme. 
 
  • Work with Integrated Delivery Planning to contribute to the development of the single, integrated delivery plan over the short, medium, and longer term.
 
  • Responsible for the budget management and expenditure for specified projects.

  • Responsible for ensuring all project technical records, including As-Built documentation and Asset Data, are delivered to Project Services team as required.


For this role you are required to have;
 
  • Relevant third level degree Engineering.
 
  • 3 years Utilities experience.

  • Have a working knowledge of H&S standards and risk management.
 
  • Working knowledge of project management and financial management, as well as construction delivery best practice.

  • Proven track record with dealing with complex issues.
 
  • Knowledge of contract management, commercial risk and dispute management, project supervision and issues reporting, interface management and programme planning.

  • Ability to develop strategic relationships to accomplish the delivery of projects.
