Head of Finance

Key Responsibilities

Report directly to the Chief Financial Officer and lead and mentor and large, high performing Finance function with 4-5 direct reports.Ensure timely insights to guide decision making at operational and strategic levels.
  • Be a key partner for the CFO, Executive Committee Teams and the cross functional SLT members across the organisation.
  • Lead, motivate and manage the finance function through proactive goal setting, guidance and coaching. 
  • Drive collaboration and business partnering across finance, transaction structuring and the end-to-end commercial deal team processes. 
  • Ownership for the technical accounting and advice to the Commercial Deal Team process 
  • Ensure a continued great culture of continuous improvement and strong team collaboration within the finance teams. 
  • Provide strong oversight and leadership across their external statutory reporting, management reporting and  treasury operations and day to day coordination and financial control for the Group.
  • Effectively communicate  key areas of financial, creating insightful financial information to direct business and transaction decisions for the CFO and SLT teams.
  • Ownership for the development and implementation of accounting policies, and preparation of interim and year-end financial statements.
  • Ownership for the maintenance of the company's system of accounts records oversight on all company transactions and assets including the single entity audit process.
  • Overall management of the external auditor relationship and audit process.
  • Input in view and strategy for tax matters, working closely with the CFO on this and the wider tax team 
  • Oversee debt management, cash forecasting and bank account management along with group FX and Interest Rate risk management and implementation.

Experience/Requirements

  • Natural leader, with strong analytical abilities
  • Driven, resourceful and a solid communicator with the ability to present complex data in a clear and articulate manner. 
  • Highly capable in working with cross functional teams and enjoys working in a dynamic, at times fast-paced, environment.
  • Commercially astute with strong  financial acumen and time management skills. 
  • Proven ability in leading and build out exceptional finance functions.
  • Highly capable in translating business strategy into operational planning, managing multiple projects. 
  • Professional , engaging and personable with the ability to develop diverse stakeholder relationships, 
  • Strong credibility and a track record of positive impact on teams they’ve led and developed over the years. 
  • Qualified accounting professional with 10 years + post qualification experience within financial services sector ideally --  investment / corporate banking, financial services corporate services, leasing or PLC experience with similar team structures and scale.
  • Adept in managing teams of 20 plus ideally. 
  • Strong technical knowledge in US GAAP and IFRS with strong excel and financial modelling skills.
