Financial Accountant

About the Company

Our client is a growing international Life insurance company with an office in Dublin city centre. They are currently recruiting a qualified accountant to join their internal finance team.
This position will suit a person who wants to gain experience in a dynamic finance team which is responsible for all aspects of financial reporting including, accounts payable, tax reporting, regulatory reporting, assets/reserves management accounts and balance sheet reconciliation.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the preparation and reporting of all financial reporting including assisting in the annual audit of the financial statements
• Perform month-end close activities including posting of accrual and prepayment journals, analytical reviews & budget variance analysis of monthly P&L
• Support the Accounts Payables function
• Review and prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations and control accounts
• Quarterly Forecasting and Budgeting
• Quarterly/Annual regulatory reporting and CSO returns
• Monthly reporting  on cash flows, KPI’s, Expense reviews, Actuals versus budget, etc. to the CFO/CEO.
• Supporting the development of junior accountants within the team

Experience/Requirements

• Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
• At least 2-3 years’ experience an accounting role in Financial Services industry.
• Experience with month end close activities, regulatory reporting and experience working within an accounts payable function advantage.
• Organised with an ability to use own initiative
• Highly motivated and be able to work under pressure and produce quality output to strict deadlines
