Senior Depositary Manager
About the Company
My Client is a leading provider of Trustee and Depositary services to UCITS and AIFMD Fund Structures. The core responsibility of the Depositary is to act solely in the interest of the investor, to hold in safekeeping the assets of the investment funds and to perform independent oversight over the activities of the scheme. The Senior Depositary client Manager will manage the delivery of Depositary services to all Irish clients and act as a first point of escalation for Depositary clients.
Key Responsibilities
Design a risk based annual plan of Depositary due diligence reviews and / or site visits and obtain plan approval from the Head of Depositary and appropriate governance forums
Manage the completion of the annual program of Depositary due diligence reviews and site visits to Fund Management Companies and Fund Management Company delegates.
Lead dialogue with parties subject to review such that findings and reports are closed out in a timely fashion. Track management action plans through to conclusion escalating where appropriate.
Demonstrate good leadership and people management skills to ensure the annual program of reviews is completed within planned timelines with reviews documented to a high standard.
Ensure all due diligence review files are prepared to a high standard and ready for presentation during regulatory reviews and reviews undertaken by the second and third line of defence.
Work closely with the Head of Depositary and the Depositary client management team to identify areas of risk or concern or heightened risk ahead of review scheduling.
Provide updates to Depositary fund manager clients and fund boards on the progress of due diligence reviews and site visits and the methodology used as required.
Input and report to the Depositary governance forums as required, including deputising for the Head of Depositary as required.
Work closely with Depositary due diligence teams in other jurisdictions to evolve the firms approach to conducting Depositary due diligence reviews in line with market best practice.
Coordinate Depositary due diligence reviews impacting multiple jurisdictions and work with colleagues in other EMEA locations to complete such reviews.
Experience/Requirements
Minimum Educational Requirements:
Professional qualification in Accountancy discipline desirable
Third level qualification to at least degree level preferably in business/legal related discipline.
PC Literacy & Ability to operate Depositary and Fund Administration Systems
Essential Skills:
Self-motivation with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Analytical skills with the ability to identify risk areas and design review programs accordingly.
Strong communication and client relationship management skills.
Proactive, focused attitude towards work and an ability to consistently meet deadlines.
Flexible mindset with the ability to manage multiple client relationships and the ability to provide cross cover for clients managed by other team members
Essential Knowledge:
Minimum of 7-10 years relevant Fund’s Industry or Audit (Internal or External) experience would be advantageous.
Strong knowledge and understanding of the Investment Funds Industry
