About the Company

Our client are a leading provider of supply solutions, specializing in the distribution of high-quality products and services to a wide range of customers in various industries. 

About the Position

The Health and Safety Officer will have the responsibility of managing all aspects of Health and Safety across our branch network throughout Ireland and supporting our onsite team at our Distribution Centre where required. To provide expertise, direction, and support on implementing a branch wide H&S programme with ESG focus. 
A key aspect of this role is the development and promotion of the Ireland safety standards across all our locations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement health and safety policies and procedures
  • As part of this role, you will be expected to work with and provide positive development to the branch teams to maintain all group health and safety requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards, including OSHA and EPA
  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and risks
  • Develop and deliver safety training programs to employees
  • Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root cause and develop corrective action plans
  • Maintain and update safety records and documentation
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement safety improvements
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure safety performance and identify areas for improvement
  • Manage and maintain safety equipment and supplies
  • Stay current on developments in health and safety regulations and best practices

Experience/Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, industrial hygiene, or related field is preferred but not essential
  • 2 years of experience in health and safety management
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations and standards
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Experience with safety audits and inspections
  • Knowledge of safety training principles and techniques
