Summary of role

The successful candidates will be responsible for driving deep-dive analyses, developing and deploying predictive models that help data-driven decisions to support business challenges.

Primary duties may include but are not limited to

  • Drive deep-dive analyses that help data-driven decisions to support business challenges
  • Develop and deploy predictive models across a variety of problem domains
  • Manage models after deployment to ensure their correct function and maintain/update/replace them as appropriate
  • Prepare and demonstrate reports to various levels of internal staff.
  • Working cross-functionally to identify actionable insights from rich data sources and create new tools to support the business need to drive value from the data.
  • Domain expertise, leading to proactive identification of use cases and activities to benefit the team and the business.
  • Working in an agile manner, constantly seeking the most efficient methods to deliver against business objectives, delivering rapid insights and proof of concepts to teams.
  • Recommending strategy and actively contributing to the development of the department, setting goals and objectives for their area of responsibility, and developing the end-to-end strategy to deliver on those goals and objectives.
  • Ensure Data Governance and policies are being adhered to in delivering high-quality reporting & analytics solutions and services to all team members.

Requirements

  • Over 5 years of relevant experience
  • Bachelor’s degree required (in data science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, Finance, Machine learning, Econometrics, Physics or related quantitative disciplines). Master’s on PHD in the field is a plus

Technical skills

Experienced professional with proficiency in the following (works independently and oversees the work of other team members):
  • Key go-to person on the team in general machine learning and NLP.
  • Python coding, SQL scripting
  • Experience in DevOps / MLOps
  • Solving problems through modelling, measurement, and data analysis.
  • Knowledge of advanced statistical techniques and concepts (regression, properties of distributions, statistical tests, proper usage, etc.) and experience with applications.
  • Monitoring data quality and building data validations.
  • Reporting and data visualisation.
  • Proficient in data science workflow for running projects from end to end
  • Extensive experience in Data Architecture, Data Science, machine learning, and simulation techniques.
  • Experienced in the current state-of-the-art analytics applications and methodologies.
  • Demonstrable experience in predictive modelling and clustering techniques in business environments.

Optional skills: 
Experience with transformers and large language model is a plus.

Communication skills

  • Ability to communicate with all levels in the company and adjust presentations to the audience are necessary.

  • Strong data storytelling skills

  • Highly experienced in working collaboratively within cross-functional teams

  • Build relationships with key stakeholders

  • Ability to take ownership of various tasks and direct the team in choosing the best possible action

  • Working with the team to define project scope and needs

Leadership

  • Experience in owning the technical delivery of part of a project

  • Mentoring other team members

  • Ability to deliver to short timelines and under pressure

  • Desire to grow as a people manager
