Senior Earthing Specialist

About the Company
Our client, who are a specialist in the data center market, are seeing constant growth in the requirement for the engineering services, in Ireland and across Europe. They work with some of the largest tech companies in the world and, as they focus on delivery, they have a reputation that their clients respect and so their relationships develops into future work.
As a result of the data centre boom in Ireland, our client is currently looking to recruit a Senior Earthing Specialist to manage the site earthing desktop design function for their large client base. Ther expertise across the electrical sector is extensive and this individual will add value to the great team and to the company as a whole.

About the Position
Reporting to the director team, you will be responsible in managing and delivering these electrical aspects across a number of programs in Ireland and Europe. You will advise and consult, both internally and with stakeholders on all aspects and ensure that all design and development is done to the highest standards. Understanding risk and the providing risk analysis knowledge will be a major aspect of this role. You will work with the client on mitigation recommendation and advise on the best strategy and direction to take. You will be well versed in contracts management and have prior experience working with high profile clients, local authorities and stake holders.
Ideally you will come from a consulting background and have experience in full life cycle projects manager.

Key Responsibilities
Within this role you will
  • Site Earthing desktop design
  • Development of detailed designs and technical reports
  • Preparation of contract documents and specifications for project delivery
  • Manage a team of engineers from junior to senior levels.
  • Site inspections where needed
  • Identifying and managing and implementing effective risk management strategies.
  • Mitigation of risk
  • Experienced in earthing issues and standards associated with power network up to 220kV
  • Earthing Systems Analysis with CDEGS
  • Develop and maintain client relationships.
  • Keep up to date with industry development, innovations and the technology related to design

For this role you will have:
  • Project Management experience
  • Qualification in Electrical Engineering
  • Knowledge of subcontractor tender packages.
  • Earthing System Design
  • Lightning Protection System Design
  • Substation and feeder earthing
  • EMF studies
  • Experience in the water/wastewater sector
  • Budgeting and forecasting
  • Consulting background.
