Business Intelligence Developer

Who we are looking for

Our client is a global investments company and they are looking for a BI specialist, with expertise in MS SQL Server tools to assist in the ongoing developments, end-user support and maintenance of its existing multi-dimensional SSAS Cube and Integration Services associated packages (SSIS) and to provide a pathway for evolution of Cube, to include Tabular model.

Evolutions toward Open Sources data provisioning and analytics stack means our client are keen to hear about candidates having exposure/experience in those ecosystems.

Finally, this is a small team who also manage and develop in OBIEE suite of products (Oracle BI) and Informatica (ETL) so either experience or willingness to learn these technologies is required.

Why this role is important to us

The successful candidate will join a compact BI & Analytics team based in Dublin and Paris. The team is responsible for managing data supply chain, maintaining Reporting platforms capabilities and providing integrated solutions and reports developments to users across Business community, from Sales and Passive Assets monitoring to Trading. We are the go-to team for a variety of needs, where collaboration is key.

What you will be responsible for

• Working with business experts to understand and analyse new requirements or data, security or performance problems and propose solutions.
• Developing new requirements for the SSAS Cube in collaboration with a team member, and be accountable for deliverables in this area.
• Developing SSIS packages to support the SSAS cube processing and manage a complex security module integrated as part of the SSAS cube.
• Provide data analysis for any data queries and investigation from source including ETL packages created in Informatica and source Oracle DB.
• Developing ETL solutions to source data ultimately required in the cube.
• Contribute to important planned evolutions, both Functional and Technical, involving data supply chain and Analytics.

• Minimum 5+ years of experience in SQL Server development with Analysis Services (SSAS), Integration Services (SSIS), Visual Studio.
• Extensive knowledge of Relational Database Management Systems including MS SQL Server, Oracle or other.
• Expertise in identification of Business and Data requirements and converting them into conceptual & logical data models.
• Experience in developing and deploying SSAS cubes (Multi-Dimensional and Tabular) is essential, with proficiency in MDX queries.
• Experience in developing solutions to integrate and expose data from various sources to Data warehouse or Lake up to Presentation layer. In that respect, previous exposure to Data Science in Python and Open-Source solutions such as Delta Lake, Spark, Apache Superset, Trino will be highly valued.
• Experience in Dimensional Data Modelling Star and Snowflake Schemas.
• Previous exposure/experience managing reporting platform such as Oracle BI, a plus.
• Team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Education & Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years' experience in BI Design and developments.
• Working language in the team is English.
• Direct, hands-on experience with the user community is essential
• Understanding of the asset management / investments industry is desirable.
• Bachelor Degree/BSc degree or equivalent.
