Head of HR Operations

About the Position

Our client is currently seeking a Head of HR Operations to lead their HR Operations function to ensure the delivery of a comprehensive and professional HR service to its stakeholders. This is a newly created position that will report into the overall Head of HR. This position will form a key part of the Senior leadership team and will lead the drive for HR Operational Excellence.
The ideal candidate will bring experience as a Senior HR Manager or Director in a complex organisation and will have significant people management experience and will be able effectively partner with the business and deliver measurable outcomes across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership to the HR Managers in the provision of a comprehensive, continuous, and professional service to the organisation on all HR related matters.
  • Work with Senior Leadership Team and HR Managers to ensure the formulation of the Human Capital Plan for the respective year and link the plan to the recruitment and selection process.
  • Develop strong working relationships with key stakeholders and ensure service continuity is maintained at all times.
  • Provide direct strategic and operational insight to key stakeholders on a range of activities including: Resource Planning; Recruitment & Selection, Performance Management, Talent Development
  • Act as a trusted advisor and coach to Senior Managers, supported by the HR Managers, recommending enabling solutions to anticipated challenges.
  • Work closely with the Employee Relations function on relevant ER matters and manage relevant ER cases, both at local and third party level when required
  • Act as the escalation point for the HR Management team
  • Operate as the senior leader with the HR Leadership team and assist the Head of HR in drivin the delivery of objectives under the strategic HR plan
  • Together with the broader HR Management Team, support and enable effective leadership decision-making on all people practices including organisational change, talent management, succession planning, performance management and employee relations
  • Enable the development of a seamless end to end service culture within the HR team, including identifying and implementing process re-engineering initiatives in order to improve efficiency and effectiveness of delivery
  • Leverage HR technology and systems to streamline HR processes and enhance data-driven decision making

Experience/Requirements

  • A primary degree, ideally postgraduate in Human Resources or a related area with CIPD accreditation
  • Up to 8 years’ experience in a relevant HR Manager/Director role with a minimum of 3 years of that experience at management/leadership level within a complex environment
  • Experience of leading and driving key projects and initiatives across a large business
  • Strong leadership skills and decision making abilities
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills at a senior level
  • Experience of resolving employee relations issues at a local level and through third parties
  • Strong working knowledge of Irish employment legislation
  • Successful track record of policy/procedure development and process re-engineering
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to drive HR initiatives that align with company strategy
  • Experience of using and ideally developing and implementing HR systems

Remuneration Package

€95,000 - €120,000 plus benefits
