About the Company
My client is a HSE operated hospital located in South Dublin which was established nearly 300 years ago. They provide
rehabilitation / respite beds and long-term care services. A day hospital service is also provided for older people living in the community who have ongoing health and rehabilitation needs. The Finance department currently has a vacancy for a Financial Accountant
About the Position
The Financial Accountant will prepare and analyse the monthly management accounts and IMR Financial results pack. Other duties will involve supporting the Head of Finance and other senior managers in the development of budgets, production of financial information and managing cost containment initiatives. They will also work closely with the Head of Finance
Key Responsibilities
Day to day supervision of the finance department.
Preparation of monthly management accounts and HSE IMR Financial Report.
Maintenance of the General Ledger and fixed assets register.
Monthly Journals, accruals and reconciliations, including balance sheet accounts.
Maintenance of the Agresso financial system.
Management of month end / year end processes.
Day to day maintenance of the stock control system and oversight of stores. monthly timetable, month end cut off, approval of purchase orders etc.
Review of payrolls and occasional cover for the payroll officer.
Preparation and
lodgment
of VAT and relevant contractors tax returns and remittance of professional services withholding tax where relevant.
Preparation and submission of CHY Tax reclaims related to Donations.
Liaison with internal and external auditors and Tax advisors.
Set up of Creditors payment runs via EFT, oversight of new authorised suppliers set up.
Participation in ongoing review and revision of financial policies and processes
Engaging with Internal Audits as required.
Maintain financial accounting systems / processes to comply fully with accounting standards and HSE regulations.
Experience/Requirements
A qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA, etc.) with at least 2 years’ post qualification experience.
Able to work on own initiative and deliver in line with relevant reporting deadlines.
Capable of ensuring confidentiality in respect of information obtained in the course of his / her duties.
Proficient with Microsoft Office 365, particularly Excel (advanced) and Word, familiarity with sharepoint and other Microsoft applications.
Familiarity with the Agresso Financial system would be a distinct advantage.
Familiar with costing systems, budgeting and financial management information systems
Keeping aware of developments and issues relevant to the operations of the Hospital and Finance team
Posess strong attention to detail, with a right first-time ethos
Remuneration Package
Salary €55,000 to €65,000 (DOE)
Annual leave is 28 days.
