Senior Quantity Surveyor – Civil/Rail
Pre and Post Contract Experience
About the Company
Our client is a major Irish company in the transport sector who are looking to increase the development and role out of their portfolio of projects across Ireland. They have a  number of expansion and upgrade programs, based on capital investment, and they are seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to work alongside the contracts management team to ensure delivery of these projects.
About the Position
Working closely with the Contracts Manager, you will become the main central support in providing quantity surveying advice and expertise in the area of major construction projects. You will manage a number of projects from initial development to delivery. This role is the opportunity to work on a number is contracts types in the construction sector, across an active, busy portfolio of projects.   
Experience/Requirements 
Within this role you are will:

• Pre-Contract and Post Contract Functions
• Manage a portfolio of projects from a QS perspective
• Pricing of Bills of Quantities to establish final pre-tender estimates
• Responsible for estimating and costings of works required
• Work with the procurement department on preparation of contracts
• Manage and develop a team of quantity surveyors  
• Report to senior directors in project plans and developments.
• Manage materials and procurement for the programs.
• Ensure the key objectives of the Capital Works Management Framework (CWMF) are being achieved at all aspects of construction projects
• Manage the legal aspects of the contracts.
• Manage preconstruction through to completion 
• Cost Management and Project Management

• 8 years’ experience in Quantity Surveying
• You will be chartered
• A related qualification, RISC
• Experience in engineering and construction
• Experience in large scale construction programs.
• Contractor/Consulting experience
• A full driver’s license

Remuneration Package
The client offers an excellent package along with benefits. They also offer pension, travel allowance and healthcare. They have also incorporated a hybrid model and, as this is a senior role, you will be responsible for your location of work on a needs must basis.
