About the Position
An opportunity has opened to join the Information Systems department as a Systems Administrator. In addition to providing support on-site you will be involved in project work. This is a permanent role and offers excellent prospects for personal development and career growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administration of Windows 2012/2016 servers and services including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group policy objects and Forest wide trusts
  • Virtualization experience necessary preferably (Hyper V)
  • Hosted Exchange administration for Office 365
  • Installation, configuration and maintenance of network devices including switches and routers
  • Next Gen Firewall experience
  • Virtual Private Network experience including installation and configuration
  • Enterprise level security software experience necessary
  • Remote access software experience
  • Backup software experience preferably hosted or online backups
  • Development and maintenance of the IT infrastructure
  • Maintaining system security at all levels
  • Systems/services compliance-testing and auditing
  • DR and business continuity planning
  • Provision of technical support including 1st/2nd level support
  • Planning and executing appropriate systems updates/upgrades
  • Building and maintaining relationships with suppliers and service providers
  • Managing service contracts and IT-related projects
  • Liaising with contractors and/or in-house IT staff
  • Provision of support for the production servers, network, VPN and other core business services
  • Producing accurate, comprehensive reports as required by the line manager
  • Documenting IT systems processes and procedures as required.

Experience/Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
  • Diploma or degree in a technical discipline, e.g., Computer Science, Information Systems
  • Extensive administrative experience with installation and configuration of Microsoft server products, printers, security hardware/software and installing third-party software
  • Knowledge of firewalls and IPS/IDS administration
  • Exemplary hardware/software troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent working knowledge of TCP/IP networking and WAN/LAN infrastructure
  • Experience in the use of systems/network management technologies

In addition, the ideal candidate will have:
  • Microsoft technical certifications e.g. MCSA/MCSE/MCITP
  • Microsoft Office365 experience
  • Hyper-V but VMWare acceptable
  • Preferably Sonicwall Network security experience
  • Kaspersky antivirus experience
  • Remote access software
  • Windows clustering experience
  • IT project management experience in a multi-site, multi-project environment
  • A structured and methodical approach to work
