HR Projects and Employee Relations Manager

About the Position

Brightwater are partnering exclusively with a global company to recruit an HR Projects and Employee Relations Manager. This is an exciting, dynamic, and diverse role with unrivaled autonomy and no red tape where you will act in an advisory capacity to HR Business Partners. This role provides huge support in terms of access to advice and legal experts and will commence as a long term contract

Key Responsibilities

  • Reviewing, advising on, and resolving sensitive employee concerns and investigations, including interpersonal conflict, employee complaints, and allegations of harassment, discrimination, and retaliation in a timely manner for non-US employees.
  • Conducting complex and sensitive employee investigations along with our legal partners, including determining appropriate investigation strategies, leading witness interviews and any required document preparation & review, and determining findings and recommendations for appropriate resolution for non-US employees.
  • Partner collaboratively with HRBPs, Legal, Communications, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion and others to advise and execute thorough investigations for non-US employees.
  • Partner with HRBPs and Managers to address performance issues and advise on next steps as needed for non-US employees.
  • Where applicable, draft well-written investigation-related documents, including leader/HRBP talking points, written warnings and other documents with little supervision.
  • Effectively and accurately maintain confidential ER data & documentation.
  • Develop & iterate on existing non-US employee relations policies and processes including performance improvement plans and investigations.
  • Closely partner with international employment counsel to stay abreast of market conditions and ensure compliance with all EU, Canadian & Mexican employment laws
  • Design and conduct employee relations training for managers and leaders of non-US employees throughout the duration of the contract.
  • Maintain HR policies unique to international employees, including international handbook supplements.
  • Partner with ER, HR & Legal teams on complex and confidential company wide initiatives such as restructuring & redundancies etc. owning all International related work.


  • Minimum of 7+ years International Employee Relations experience. ER experience across Ireland and the UK are essential, and experience with any of our other countries will be helpful but is not required.
  • Experience leading a wide variety of complex employee investigations with little supervision
  • Excellent decision making, problem solving, critical thinking and writing skills
  • Advanced understanding of employment and HR related laws, regulations, policies, principles, concepts and practices.
  • High emotional intelligence and strong people skills
  • Ability to handle highly sensitive and confidential matters with compassion and equity.
  • Ability to work collaboratively, lead and influence at all levels within the organization, and make decisions while keeping all partners and leaders informed
  • Ability to position self as credible, proactive and a trusted thought-partner.
  • Ability to balance local labor laws with business needs, knowing when and where to flex.
  • Independent work style, balancing the need for collaboration with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with strong time management and prioritization skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, including verbal and written

Remuneration Package

€80,000 - €110,000
