About the Company

My client is a world leader in their Industry, developing cutting edge products for a wide variety of applications in Aviation and Aerospace. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established manufacturing facility in Cork. 

About the Position

This role reports to the Operations Manager for the organisation of people, equipment, and processes across Planning, Purchasing, Supplier Development, Customer Service and Logistics (shipping, receiving and stores) areas to ensure business and customer commitments are met.
The supply chain team procures and manages electronic components, metal work and various electronic sub-assemblies, purchased from a global supply base and effects the production plans required to produce made to order products on time.
This is a leadership position within the organisation with 20+ reporting staff, approximately 10 reporting directly, including a team of supervisors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan Resources to Meet Targets
    Ensure resource availability and allocate team members across Procurement, Planning, Supplier Development, Customer Service, and Logistics to meet order requirements. Work with internal departments, including Production, Quality, and Engineering, to achieve Sales Order targets. Support HR in recruitment, training, and employee development, ensuring adherence to safety and policies.

  • Monitor Plan vs. Actual Performance
    Track and meet key performance indicators (KPIs) across purchasing, shipping, and customer response. Address deviations through corrective actions and provide supplier performance feedback to maintain quality. Monitor inventory levels, control customer-owned and Aftermarket inventory, and ensure compliance with Known Consignor, Dangerous Goods, and trade regulations.

  • Process Optimization
    Continuously improve supply chain processes through Lean and Continuous Improvement tools, supporting operational changes as needed. Maintain data integrity and inventory accuracy, optimize inventory records in the ERP system, and refine material handling and storage practices.

Experience/Requirements
  • 10+ years leading and managing people in a regulated manufacturing environment

  • A qualification and experience in Supply Chain, Planning and Logistics management or related business discipline

  • An Engineering qualification or experience in Electronic/Electrical Engineering or related discipline is an advantage

  • SAP experience is an advantage as the company is transitioning to SAP

  • Experience in Known Consignor compliance is an advantage

  • Lean experience is an advantage

  • A Project Management experience is an advantage

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Excellent written and oral communication

  • Excellent organisation and problem solving skills

  • Ability to communicate appropriately across the range of roles from senior management to line operators
