About the Position

The IT Infrastructure team provides critical IT and operational technology infrastructure services across their organization. This includes maintaining systems, managing disaster recovery processes, overseeing vendor relationships, ensuring compliance with security and operational standards, and managing quality assurance. The team also facilitates capacity planning, demand management, and oversees the operational interdependencies of IT initiatives. Additionally, it manages the organization’s data centers, ensuring IT availability and continuity.
In this role you will oversee the reliability, security, and efficiency of datacentre operations. This role involves managing server and network infrastructure maintenance, ensuring operational excellence, and contributing to both day-to-day operations and long-term strategic initiatives.

This role will suit an experienced IT Infrastructure Lead who is looking for a 12 month Fixed Term contract.


Key Responsibilities
 

  • Oversee the implementation and maintenance of Data Centre and cloud-based infrastructure.
  • Manage and configure virtualized infrastructure systems, including storage, network, and compute resources.
  • Administer operating systems and hardware environments, ensuring optimal performance for development, testing, and production systems.
  • Lead the design, architecture, deployment, and testing of new systems for business-as-usual and project-specific requirements.
  • Collaborate with IT project teams and key internal stakeholders across various departments to support strategic initiatives.
  • Build and maintain productive relationships with external vendors, contractors, and IT service providers.
  • Manage software versioning, updates, and patching processes for relevant applications.
  • Participate in procurement processes, including drafting contracts, managing purchase orders, and running tenders.
  • Provide on-call support as part of a rotational standby schedule and oversee team participation in this roster.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders across IT teams, including cybersecurity, service management, and delivery teams.
  • Ensure adherence to health and safety standards across operations and supply chain activities.
  • Support organizational transformation initiatives and contribute to company-wide goals.
  • Provide leadership to the team, fostering collaboration and professional growth while reinforcing organizational values and behaviors.

Experience/Requirements
  • Proven experience in IT operations and infrastructure management.

  • Hands-on experience with infrastructure design, implementation, and support (Linux, Windows, VMware, SAN technologies, etc.).

  • Familiarity with hardware installation and configuration within a datacentre environment.

  • Relevant qualifications or certifications (or equivalent experience) are advantageous.

Leadership and Interpersonal Skills:

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage teams effectively, including performance management and conflict resolution.

  • Experience coaching and developing technical skills in others.
