Financial Controller
Our client a leading not for profit organisation based in Cork are hiring for a Financial Controller to join their team. It is a great organisation with really good values. This is a permanent role and our client will also consider candidates on an interim basis if you are available for an immediate start.
Purpose of Role
The Financial Controller will play a key role in the management of the finance operations and in the delivery of the strategic goals of the organization.
As leader of the Finance team, the role will require consistent high-quality standards, while managing a diverse team to deliver on the charity's strategic goals. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring adherence to robust accounting policies and procedures, which ensure accountability and transparency over the spending of the charity's funds. They will also be responsible for the oversight of high-quality back-office support which is driven and managed by critical KPI’s. They will work closely with leadership colleagues to provide insights and feedback to drive outcome improvements. They will work closely with the CEO to build a culture of employee engagement and continuous improvements to ensure that a high-quality service is provided to all stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead the development of long-term financial strategies.
• Oversee financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Drive a continuous improvement culture within the Finance department.
• Analyze financial data and provide insights to inform strategic decision-making.
• Manage and develop a high-performing Finance team.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting and regulatory standards.
• Manage and oversee the audit process.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders.
Experience, Education and Skills
• Qualified Accountant (e.g.ACCA, ACA,CPA,CIMA) with at lease8+ years of relevant experience.
• Proven experience in financial management and leadership roles.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
