Design Engineer E, C & I 

About the Company

Our client directly employs over 1,600 people delivering water and gas services to 1.6 million customers daily and currently has an exciting opportunity to join their team. The successful candidate will be part of a team that is responsible for the detailed design of CAPEX and OPEX projects.

About the Position

The successful candidate will be a key member of a very skilled C&I team that delivers high-quality design services to the entire networks business. The successful candidate will have the ability to diagnose technical any issues and have a strong knowledge of all electrical design process, instrumentation and cathodic protection

Key Responsibilities

  • Actively contribute in a team of Design Engineers/Technicians with external engineering responsible for delivering the design element of the capital and operational programmes in related areas of instrumentation, telemetry, metering, cathodic protection and electrical
  • Assist in delivering a high-quality design service to the business
  • Effectively diagnose any technical issues within E,C&I
  • Prepare and generate specification, planning and tender documentation 
  • Technical support for all E,C&I aspects of new and existing gas pipelines
  • Report and monitor control points with external engineering service providers
  • Continuously identify processes and procedures that can be improved including ISO 9000
  • Ensure all design documentation is fully and accurately completed
  • Generate project control budget and implement efficiencies as identified
  • Flexible with further duties as projects progress
  • Building relationships throughout many networks and ensure all policies and procedures are being followed

Experience/Requirements

  • Engineering Degree (Electrical or Instrumentation)
  • 4 - 6 years engineering experience, natural gas experience would be advantagous
  • Electrical, Instrumentation and Control System design experience
  • Familiar with H&S standards and risk assessment methodology
  • IEC 61511 Functional Safety -Safety Instrumented Systems experience
  • Knowledge of gas standards and regulations would be desirable
  • Competent in Hazardous Area classification and ATEX certification.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Telemetry / SCADA systems.
  • Team player with ability to deal with all levels of stakeholders internally and externally
  • Effective communicator to influence key decisions
  • Adaptable and continuously look to improve processes
  • Committed to constantly upskilling yourself and all of your team

Remuneration Package

€45,000 - €56000 per annum
