About the Position

Brightwater Executive is retained exclusively for this role.

The Head of Supply Chain and Operations will act as deputy to the MD ensuring co-ordination of business functions to deliver our plans safely and in accordance with Hilton standards. The role will be responsible for establishing a world class integrated supply chain and operations structure and to continuously improve our manufacturing capability to be industry leading in terms of cost, quality, and safety.  The successful candidate will drive our Manufacturing Excellence strategy and be a role model building an effective continuous improvement culture supported by a highly engaged workforce.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Develop and implement a site manufacturing strategy and ensure safe and controlled operations with way of working aligned to the Hilton Food Group operating model, manufacturing and quality standards and way of working. Work collaboratively with Group function to harness broader HFG capabilities to drive performance and standards.
  • Act as deputy for the MD, building collaboration across site functions to enable effective day to day operations meeting customer requirements in a safe and compliant way and meeting or exceeding plan.
  • Build an industry leading procurement team, leverage Group capabilities for indirect buying.
  • Build an industry leading planning function, fully utilising technology, and systems to optimise demand planning through to manufacturing scheduling and delivery.
  • Embed and develop the DRM, PMR (Project Management Review) PMR and PDR (employee Performance Development Review) processes. These processes need to be at the heart and in the DNA of our business, driving performance.
  • Build an industry leading continuous improvement manufacturing capability supported by highly engaged teams, who understand the vision for the Hilton Foods Ireland business with clear team and individual roles and responsibilities, with individuals held accountable for delivering.
  • Working with the People & Culture team to deliver our ambition to be an employer of choice enabling us to attract, develop and retain a highly motivated and skilled workforce with day-to-day operations delivered through effective alignment of production requirements and workforce planning.
  • Working with the People & Culture team, develop a clear Talent development programme that creates clear short-, medium- and longer-term succession plans.
  • Working with Site Engineering and Group Manufacturing develop and implement a site automation and asset care strategy in support of the overall manufacturing strategy.
  • Optimise planning to meet or exceed customer delivery performance and plan.
  • Identify and address operational performance challenges with appropriate analysis, action plan, intervention and controls ensuring we always maintain our competitiveness.
  • Build the right engaging culture, integrating and leveraging Hilton capabilities, and drive the Operating Model.
  • Be able to carry out forensic detailed analysis, to create detailed improvement action plans, and to then execute these plans in a timely manner.
  • Develop close working relationships across the Hilton Food Group enabling the business to benchmark, share learnings and improve.
  • Embody a ‘can do’ attitude, delivering transformational change within Hilton Foods Ireland, improving engagement with our colleagues, and helping drive the strategic development of the business.

              

Experience/Requirements 

  • Comprehensive manufacturing lead responsibility ideally gained within meat or related food processing industries.
  • End to end Supply Chain experience, including procurement, planning, manufacturing, and delivery.
  • Experience in utilising ERP systems/technology in delivering optimal supply chain performance.
  • Business related degree or higher education desirable and good understanding of lean and continuous improvement.
  • Proven track record in building high performing teams and strong engagement, safety, and quality culture.
  • Ability to analyse situations and provide insight and diagnosis using relevant data and build and deliver action plans.
  • Demonstrable experience of successful internal and external stakeholder relationship management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to translate technical detail in a compelling way.
  • Capability to build relationships across several external stakeholders, embodying the ‘Hilton Food Group’ values and behaviours.
