About the Position
The Senior Procurement Planner will develop purchasing strategies and have responsibility for all activities involved in the sourcing of suppliers and the purchasing of products, equipment, and services.
Key Responsibilities
Work closely with GPG supplier base to achieve optimum cost and timely delivery of procured raw materials and subsidiary products
Engage in tender process for products as required
Collaborate with Guild CPO Europe, our purchasing cooperative
Acquisition of raw materials supply networks to fulfil business requirements, including coordinating the logistics of intake of same
Manage current and future raw material supply networks to ensure that GPG maintains long term partnerships, that enable us to continue to meet our sustainability and commercial goals
Engage with suppliers on any issues that arise and work for a speedy resolution
Expedite orders as required, any issues to be reported to the Head of Finance as appropriate
Communicate all issues in a timely manner to the appropriate departments
Work with Technical department to accomplish organisational goals with external suppliers
Maintain all supplier and pricing data in centralised database
Preparing plans for the purchase of equipment, services, and supplies
Reviewing, comparing, analyzing, and approving products and services to be purchased
Ensure that purchasing of raw materials and products is completed in line with best practice
Manage stock levels, combining forecasted sales and demand
scheduling with seasonality and allow for a safety stock as agreed. Minimise any Spot purchasing
Liaising with Production Manager on a daily/ weekly basis to facilitate timely & efficient production runs
Experience/Requirements
Degree level or equivalent professional qualification in Supply Chain Management
3+ years’ experience in a similar role / environment is essential
IT - strong level of IT skills
Good analytical and strategic thinking skills. Strong communication and negotiation skills
Project management and meticulous attention to detail
