Procurement Manager - Pharmaceuticals
About the Company
Our client is a designer and manufacturer of injectable pharmaceutical packaging and delivery systems.
About the Position
The successful candidate will be responsible and accountable for the procurement for their facility in Waterford, including supplier selection, ordering, follow-up and process control, while ensuring that internal customer requirements for materials/goods and services are achieved in a timely manner at the lowest total cost and in direct conformance with the policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Find and implement strategic sourcing solutions
Negotiate contracts with suppliers. Fully understand and negotiate the structure and terms of common contracts and business models in the Irish region.
Identify and assess risks and benefits of sourcing decisions and clearly present proposals to mitigate risks collaboratively
Act as first escalation point if problems with suppliers arise. Coordinate resolution of supplier performance issues.
Contribute to the annual budget process by providing reliable cost estimates and realistic forecasts
Perform other duties as assigned based on business needs
Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, instructions, and all safety rules.
Experience/Requirements
Supplier and contract management experience.
Strong influencing, change management, and negotiation skills.
Present and advocate sourcing cases to a variety of audiences with self-confidence.
Ability to respectfully communicate to and challenge plant management team.
Openness for new initiatives, fast learner, proactive.
Ability to lead teams and build effective working relationships both internally and externally.
Strong presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Results orientation.
Strong analytical capabilities.
Self-starter and independent worker.
Proficiency in English.

10% annual bonus + benefits
Hybrid position - Minimum 3 days per week on-site is essential.
