 Our client, a leading supply chain and logistics organisation are looking to appoint a Director of Operations. This is a senior appointment with the successful incumbent having responsibility for the overall performance of the Operations function across the business. They will also help the organisation execute short and long-term plans by holding full responsibility for distribution, supply chain, warehousing, operations, logistics and customer services. Reporting to the CEO. You will need to be flexible in how you think and a strong problem solver. You will also need to be a good leader, able to get the best from your own team and also to work cross functionally and interact effectively with people at all levels of the business.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide day to day leadership and management guidance which incorporates the mission and core values of the company. • Responsible for financial performance of the business including meeting profit and cash flow objectives. • Ensure revenue targets are measured, monitored and communicated in a timely and continuous manner. • Responsible for driving the company to achieve the Operational and Customer Service goals and objectives • Develop and implement growth strategies for the business. • Responsible for establishing internal and external processes and key performance indicators for the business and for their measurement and effectiveness • Collaborate with the management team to develop and implement plans for the successful build, delivery of future projects and WIP ensuring that the systems, processes and personnel designed to accommodate the accelerated growth of the business are in place. • Ensure that the company has the proper operational control and administrative and reporting procedures to meet operational and financial targets. • Attract, recruit and retain members of the Operations function and provide mentoring to department managers as a cornerstone to their career development. • Devise an adequate management structure within the operations function to ensure effective leadership. • Foster a success –orientated, accountable environment • Ensure that all Health and Safety procedures are followed in accordance with company policies. • Represent the company to existing and new customers across the business and board of directors. • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrating evidence of ability to work well in a cross-functional team. • Record of achievement and experience in strategic and operational business

Essential Skills

• Excellent leadership skills with a minimum of 10+ years of experience at a senior operational level within a logistics organisation managing blue chip customers • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects concurrently while regularly reporting progress and risks to senior management. • Experience within FMCG, warehousing and supply chain • Strong business and financial acumen • Team player with an ability to influence and motivate others. • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrating evidence of ability to work well in a cross-functional team. • Record of achievement and experience in strategic and operational business planning • Practical approach to work with an emphasis on simplicity of design and operation.
