Legal Transaction Solicitor/Manager – Corporate Services: Brightwater have been appointed to recruit a Legal Manger for a leading provider of Corporate Services in Ireland and Internationally. This role will join a Legal team of approx. 11 people, and will report directly to the Head of Client Services in Ireland. Candidates must have some prior experience of managing and mentoring more junior staff and ideally have Capital Markets experience. The ideal candidate will be a qualified solicitor, 3-8 years pqe, coming from a reputable firm in a common law jurisdiction, or from one of the leading corporate services providers. Candidates from Corporate, Banking, Financial Services, or Aircraft Leasing backgrounds will be considered. This is truly possible within the company and they are very flexible in relation to employees personal lives/time/ appointments etc The role will involve handling all legal and transactional matters for client companies and business partners, including law firms, banks, tax advisors, investment managers, aviation companies, S110 companies and SPV’s. It is a broad, client facing role encompassing liaison with multiple departments – legal tax, finance etc.
Day to day responsibilities
• Act as transaction manager for a portfolio of structured finance and aircraft leasing special purpose vehicles/S110 companies. • Build and maintain strong, responsive client relationships • Assist law firms with the setting up of Irish SPVs in structured finance and aircraft leasing transactions and review suites of transaction documents. • Identify any legal or tax issues in relation to a transaction. • Manage the process for the on-boarding of new clients. • Supervise junior staff members who are responsible for general administrative matters. • Train and mentor junior staff members. • Liaise with internal teams and external parties as required in order to achieve client objectives. • Ensure that key transaction data is recorded • Review and screen potential clients and their prospective structures
Required skills and qualifications
• Qualified solicitor – 3-8 years pqe from a top firm or corporate services provider. • FS/Banking/Aviation/Capital Markets or Corporate Transactional experience essential • General knowledge of/interest in aircraft leasing and/or financial services with debt capital markets experience would be an advantage. • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal). Fluent English. • Strong attention to detail • Ability to prioritise and manage a diverse workload • Ability to manage and resolve difficult situations • Experience leading a team, or of managing or mentoring junior staff • Comfortable with a lot of responsibility
