Software Product Owner

Our client is a well-established Software firm which provides industry leading transportation, global trade and supply chain management software for fortune 500 businesses around the world, both On Premise and in the Cloud, allowing companies to improve the management and control of their global shipping. Founded in Ireland over thirty years ago, Dublin remains the core global office, with the Software R&D team and a large number of service consultants assisting their global customer sites. The company has a highly collaborative and democratic approach and offer a flexible working environment and an entrepreneurial and always moving forward culture. They are looking for an experienced Product Owner to join their R&D team in Dublin. You will be responsible for one or more development scrum teams who will be tasked with building a new product that is critical to their continued success.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize the Product Backlog and keep it maintained, visible and clear. • Work with the scrum teams to refine the backlog. Take the lead in converting the problems on the backlog into granular user stories that can be achieved within a single sprint, and deliver business value. • Define the initial set of acceptance criteria for each user story. • Support the scrum team(s) during each sprint e.g. clarify requirements, make priority calls, review test plans and development work. • Participate in Scrum ceremonies; sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews and retrospectives. • Give progress updates to stakeholders on a regular basis.

Skills and Experience

• Minimum 4 years experience as a Product Owner in an Agile/Scrum environment. • Have worked on teams delivering an enterprise business application. • Must be a team player who works well with technical and non-technical people. • Excellent communication skills and ability to influence all project members and stakeholders. • Knowledge of Global Trade Management (Import or Export) or Supply Chain is desirable. • Experience with Jira and Confluence would be beneficial.

Education and qualifications
