Key Responsibilities | Duties

Contribute to the growth and the effective operation of Underwriting Governance through: • Ensuring clarity around the underwriting processes • Assessing control strength, challenging the effectiveness of controls • Working with underwriting managers to ensure adequate and focused monitoring and quality assurance is scheduled for completion and monitoring against schedule. • Review of monitoring and quality assurance results and assess and challenge process and control strength arising from the results. • Implementation of control improvement recommendations • Ensuring a clear audit trail from defining processes to agreeing controls and review parameters at management sign off and completion of performance improvement recommendations. • Building on own Risk, Compliance and quality standards skills and knowledge • Oversee the completion of control activity, control review, monitoring and Quality assurance within the team. • Continually strive to identify efficiencies within ongoing activity.

Key Skills & Competencies

• Ambitious and energetic with Insurance industry and Quality control experience. • Possess an understanding of the risk and control environment within which companies within the financial services industry work. • Quality and results focused with a clear understanding of being able to understand processes, controls and quality assurance. • Previous experience of working in a quality assurance role in the Insurance • Ability to carry out peer reviews and compare the parameters of reviews undertaken against UW requirement and agreed review methodology. • Ability to work within the department and team to agree, design, perform/guide control evaluation and risk focused quality assurance reviews • Ability to analyse review results and determine impact and root cause. • Possess the ability to build working relationships within team units and with other internal stakeholders.
