Settlements Manager

Applications are being sought to fill the role of Settlements Manager in our Asset Servicing team. The Settlements Team are responsible for the end to end post trade life cycle following all of company trading activity.

The Job
The successful applicant will have the following responsibilities: • Manage a team with responsibility for monitoring the trade matching and trade settlement process, proactively working with our counterparties and custodian network to resolve any issues in a timely manner. • Ownership for ensuring that all trades are recorded accurately on company systems for accounting and investment book of record purposes. • Proactively support the onboarding of client assets from new business wins and the implementation of new funds and services in a controlled manner. • Manage the relationship with our internal and external customers with the objective of delivering high quality services outcomes. • Oversight of the MIFIR transaction reporting process to the Regulator. • Drive the ongoing development of our system capabilities and streamlining of existing operational processes. • People management including setting annual objectives, performance appraisals and regular team meetings. • Keep abreast of regulatory, market and industry developments and assess the implications for the team’s activities. • Ensure controls are in place and adhered to in order to mitigate the operational risks inherent with activity carried out in the team. • Manage the relationship with key external service providers including custodians, administrators, system vendors, auditors, regulatory reporting partners to ensure service management frameworks are adequate.
The Person
The ideal applicant will possess the following skills and knowledge: • A 3rd level qualification (preferably Finance related). • A broad understanding of the asset management business, investment markets and investment vehicles and an understanding of the regulatory and legislative framework within which they operate. • A strong understanding of securities markets and how they operate, specifically; trading and settlements, asset valuation and corporate actions • Minimum of 3 years’ direct people management experience in a similar role; this should include setting objectives, delivering appraisals and performance management. • A questioning attitude and an ability to recognise and resolve problems as they arise and escalate where necessary. • A proven ability to meet tight deadlines and work well within a team environment. • Strong organisational, planning & communication skills with an ability to build and maintain good working relationships. • A high level of accuracy and attention to detail. • Ability to prioritise key tasks and see them through to completion. • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making ability.
