With a history of supporting primary food producers from supply to processing, this 100% Irish owned business offers the opportunity to be part of Ireland's biggest export sector. In order to support the continued growth of the business and build on its expansion to date, we now seek to recruit an Agri Retail Buyer, who will manage the development and implementation of strategies for the supply of bulk materials and consumable to the primary food producer.

The Job

- Sourcing new suppliers, products and alternative supply chain arrangements - Negotiation and completion of contracts, order creation, price and product file maintenance - Supplier relationship management, categorisation of suppliers, rationalisation of suppliers, establishing the competitor base for existing suppliers and dispute resolution - Benchmarking and price comparison, competitor tracking, market trend analysis, price setting - Distribution of value-added information accurately and on a timely basis - Margin Improvement working with finance, marketing and the supplier base to ensure margin enhancement through free goods, marketing & promotional support etc. - Monitor and implement procedures, policy and controls throughout the order to sale process for assigned categories - Stock Management ensuring all risks and costs regarding damaged stock, slow-moving stock and seasonal stock are minimised for categories assigned - Assist in the budgeting and planning process for categories assigned - Managing plans for stock levels, reacting to change in demand and logistics - Maintaining relationships with existing suppliers and sourcing new suppliers for future products - Receiving and analysing the proposals and tenders of suppliers for value

The Requirements

- A 3rd level qualification in a relevant discipline Construction/Agri/Procurement/Business/Retail - A proven track record of strong organisational skills, ability to prioritise tasks and focus on and meet task deadlines - An understanding of Retail buying and the underlying processes across the full remit of the role - Flexibility will be self-motivated with a resilient, ‘can do’ attitude - Experience in the product category management function and will work to increase sales through effective category/space management practices - The ability to work to stock budgets whilst delivering Sales and Margin budgets - Relationship Building and Customer Service - A customer focus with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Interested candidates wish to find out more about this exciting opportunity should forward a copy of their current CV to Andrew Rowley at Brightwater Recruitment Specialist via the link below.
