General Manager - Europe Brightwater Executive have been retained by a global cosmetic and wellness group to appoint a General Manager for their Irish and European markets. The General Manager will hold full financial (P&L) and operational responsibility for a major operational site in Ireland and Europe. They will be responsible for the day-to-day operations to ensure a safe, profitable, high quality performance in accordance with customer expectations, corporate objectives, strategy and plans. The General Manager will be responsible for the stringent management of all revenue and for providing leadership and guidance to staff across all geographical markets delivering safe, consistent, high-quality services, in a safe environment, to a diverse set of customers, distributors and distribution channels. Essential Skills & Responsibilities • Successfully manage a P&L and improve profitability, productivity and market share • Continuously analyise financial and operational performance and forecast data to determine progress toward targets and proactively identifing and capturing improvement potential opportunities • Direct the preparation of operating budgets and proposals for capital expenditure and investments in infrastructure, technology, equipment, systems, or other assets and resources • Strong decision-making capabilities in a highly fast paced, time-sensitive multi level marketing business • Lead, guide, evaluate and develop a high-performing team to ensure that the organisation achieves its business objectives and complies with all relevant regulations and laws when entering new markets • Successful management of the Irish and European business • Effectively communicate with all levels of the business • Develop and maintain effective business relationships with all key stakeholders (customers, distributors etc.) to meet business targets • Identify and generate new commercial opportunities through strong customer management Quality Focus, Service Delivery and Operational Efficiency • Strong focus on operational performance and quality of service • Proactively manage quality improvement measures where necessary and align closely with all customers • Monitor and track quality standards to ensure continuous improvements in services to maintain competitiveness and practice best in class Key Performance Indicators • Revenue, Gross Profit and EBITDA • HR Metrics – relating to Recruitment, Employee Engagement, Churn and Turnover • Quality targets Qualifications and Competencies • University degree or equivalent, advanced degree in related field or professional certifications are advantageous • Excellent working knowledge of business management principles and practices, financial concepts, and key drivers of profitability and operational performance • A minimum of 10 years’ experience with significant P&L and people responsibility, preferably in the direct selling industry • Strong strategic skills and commercial acumen combined with the ability to motivate teams to deliver high quality standards • Ability to establish and maintain positive, professional, internal and external work relationships with all stakeholders and interest groups • Team focused management style that fits into a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment • Highly motivated self-starter, who can effectively prioritise, multi-task and manage to accomplish objectives within prescribed deadlines For a confidential discussion on this General Manager - Europe appointment please contact Orla Brennan at Brightwater Executive on 01 6621000 or email your CV in confidence to o.brennan@brightwater.ie.
