Brightwater Executive has been exclusively retained by CUSOP for the search and selection of their CEO. CUSOP (Payments) DAC ‘CUSOP’ is a credit union owned payments institution regulated by the Central Bank of Ireland. CUSOP commenced trading in late 2013 and has grown to provide payment services to over 150 credit unions in Ireland. In 2018 CUSOP processed over 10million payment transactions to the value of over €2.5bn. The CEO will be primarily responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction for CUSOP, ensuring it performs and operates to the highest standards and delivers efficient and customer centric payment services to credit unions.

Key responsibilities :

• Provide visionary leadership to develop CUSOP’s short and long-term strategy. • Create and implement the firm’s strategic vision and rolling business plans and key objectives. • Lead the evaluation, planning and development of new payment services for credit unions. • Lead, mentor and motivate a high performing management team. • Responsibility for firm’s financial stability and growth. • Communicate and maintain solid and effective business relationships with credit union stakeholders, regulators, suppliers and government entities. • Foster and preserve a ‘not-for-profit’ cooperative culture within CUSOP, in line with the ethos of the wider credit union movement. • Assess any risks to CUSOP and ensure full compliance with all regulatory requirements. • Maintain awareness of the competitive payments market landscape, expansion opportunities and industry developments.

The Ideal Person will possess:

• Strong and influential leadership skills with a proven track record of solid performance, at a senior management level. • Adept communication skills, strong relationship and stakeholder manager • Strategically focused, commercial astute and aware of challenges and opportunities in a fast-changing payments environment. • A keen interest in fintech and emerging payment trends. • Strong commercial acumen, geared to optimising the company’s performance for the benefit of both the credit unions and CUSOP. • Strong customer centricity Strong initiative, self-motivation. A natural and influential leadership and solid stakeholder management style • Preferably educated to degree level.
