Insurance Governance Executive

Key Duties / Responsibilities

Contribute to the efficient and effective operation of the Governance area through: • Assisting with contract document changes, drafting and developing business requirements. • Gaining an understanding of the various operational control activities undertaken with the team including the standards required to achieve completion. Activities undertaken within the team include Documentation, Training, Quality assurance, Procedures, Risk Controls, Compliance and Reporting. • Assisting in the review, strengthening and adapting of operational controls to meet changing internal and external requirements. • Use this knowledge and own experience to act as a point of support in the completion of team tasks. • Coordinate activity within the team with the responsibility for the completion of individual team activities in line with stated objectives and agreed timeframes. • Strive to achieve synergies and efficiencies where appropriate. • Progress own control activities in line with agreed objectives.

Key Skills and Competencies/h2> • Ambitious and energetic with Insurance industry experience. • Previous experience of reviewing and drafting text for various contract documents including letters. • The aptitude and appetite to work within an environment that needs to evolve to meet changing internal and external requirements. • Possess an understanding of the risk and control environment within which companies within the financial services industry work. • Quality and results focused with a clear understanding of being able to demonstrate task/control completion. • Proven ability to coordinate and progress team activity in line with agreed objectives and to agreed standards. • Possess leadership and mentoring skills and have the ability to build working relationships within team units and with other internal stakeholders. • An excellent communicator both written and verbal. • Ability to work as part of a team and to act on own initiative This role is being offered on a 12 month contract basis.
