 Brightwater Executive is working alongside a leading global insurance company to appoint a Senior Compliance Manager. Based in their Dublin operation, and reporting directly to the Chief Compliance Officer will oversee Compliance matters for Business Units within 13 regional countries with particular focus on units regulated by the CBI. Remuneration Package – Highly Competitive The ideal candidate will have 7 - 10 + years industry experience and strong leadership skills. Articulate communicator, confident teamplayer and adept at working at senior management level. Proven track record in operating at a senior compliance level, preferably within the financial services sector. Sound knowledge of Irish Compliance regulatory environment relating to Financial Services and compliance with CBI regulation.

Key responsibilities:

• Development, oversight and leadership of the compliance framework for business units within the EMEA Region • Advisory role for branches on Compliance matters both on an ongoing basis and for specific projects • Opportunity to grow role into PCF Head of Compliance with responsibility for AML/CFT for Branch specific analysis and presentation of changes to the Executive Committee, Audit Committee and Board, subject to CBI approval • Responsible for Compliance reporting processes and communication to governance bodies and regulatory bodies where appropriate • Oversee the annual Compliance risk assessment with Branch visits where appropriate • Identify ways to further increase the effectiveness of the assurance section of the Compliance Program • Ensure appropriate Compliance controls mechanisms are in place and are tested robustly • Develop best practice network with other Assurance Providers across the three lines of defence to achieve truly integrated assurance • Member of the management/executive committee • Lead a diverse functional team, setting objectives, reviewing performance and set clear goals • Lead by example and strong interest in proactive personal development. • Coach and provide technical advice and counsel within the Compliance team • Create people management plan to ensure the right resourcing is in place as part of business planning process. • Strong at selecting internal and external resources/working with teams across functions to resolve business challenges promptly.

The Ideal candidate profile:

• 7+ years commercial industry experience preferably within a financial institution • Relevant Degree ideally Law/Business related or equivalent commercial experience • Preferably a qualified ACOI* Compliance professional or part-qualified (*Association of Compliance Officers in Ireland) • Sound knowledge of Irish Compliance regulatory environment relating to Financial Services and compliance with CBI regulation • Previous involvement in Compliance projects, implementing reporting efficiencies and identifying key financial controls and mitigating actions • Strong written and verbal communication skills at senior management level; • Highly articulate and strong presentation and written skills with a natural flair for clear and logical thinking • Confident team player comfortably navigating interdependencies with the ability to build strong working relations with peers, colleagues and with virtual teams • Inquisitive problem solver / decision maker and independent and self-motivated professional • Solution oriented with a pro-business / compliance balance mindset • Highly motivated individual comfortably dealing with change and delivery-orientated results. • Willingness to travel as and when necessary with this role For a confidential discussion about this Senior Compliance Manager role, please contact Estelle Davis Managing Partner at Brightwater Executive on + 353 1 662 1000 or email E.Davis@brightwater.ie
