Governance objectives in the underwriting department focusing on the following

• Contract documentation • Operational controls • Reporting • Underwriting team development.

Key Duties / Responsibilities

• Work within our Governance / underwriting team. • Contract document changes • Underwriting Documentation management • Training team on new standards, changes and regulations • Quality assurance • Risk Controls • Compliance • Reporting. • Understand, manage and review underwriting standards for our general insurance products • Review, strengthening and adapting of operational controls to meet changing internal and external requirements.

Key Skills and Competencies

• General Insurance / underwriting industry experience preferable. • Previous experience of reviewing and drafting text for various contract documents including letters. • Possess an understanding of the risk and control environment within which companies within the financial services industry work. • Quality and results focused with a clear understanding of being able to demonstrate task/control completion. • Possess leadership and mentoring skills • Have the ability to build working relationships within team units and with other internal stakeholders. • An excellent communicator both written and verbal. This role is initially being offered on a 12 month contract basis.
