Associate - Real Estate

An opportunity has arisen for an Associate to work with the pension and finance teams within our clients’ Real Estate division. This division manages €2bn of Irish commercial property assets across a number of funds and sectors. The successful candidate will work across these funds in a hands-on, varied, operational role focussed on pensions and other areas of the finance function. The successful candidate will be proactive, highly organised, and personable with a can-do attitude.
ey Responsibilities:
Pensions Team:
• Working with the pension and finance teams on revenue recognition, ensuring rents are collected in a timely manner and posting them to the correct accounts. • Working with the pensions team on daily expense payments and periodic bank loan and VAT/LPT payments. • Ad hoc regulatory and other projects from time to time.
Finance team:
• Working with the finance team on revenue recognition, ensuring rents are collected in a timely manner and posting them to the correct accounts. Liaising with asset managers to ensure debtor amounts are collected in a timely manner. • Working with asset managers and Finance to ensure the property management and financial reporting systems are kept up to date on an ongoing basis. • Preparing rental income and bank reconciliations for the various funds. • Assisting the Finance Manager in the preparation of quarterly management accounts and year-end financial statements/audits. • Assisting the finance function and investment managers on ad hoc reporting requirements and information requests from investors. • Liaising with internal and external service providers. • Managing the execution of leases and other legal agreements. • Other ad hoc projects as required.
• A minimum of 1 years' experience working in an accounting or finance environment; • Degree in Business/Finance related area preferable; • A high level of proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint; • A flexible, positive attitude towards work • Excellent attention to detail; • An ability to work effectively as part of a team; • A professional telephone manner; • Excellent organisational skills; • An ability to prioritise own workload; • Experience in using accounting or property management software preferable.
