Opportunity for an experienced Project/Contract Manager to be part of developing and leading an established company Commercial and Contract Management.

The successful candidate will be responsible for all contractual and commercial activities within large projects at delivery stage, ensuring best practice is always introduced.

Duties and Responsibilities: • Take oversight and accountability for commercial and contract related activities across the Major Projects Portfolio • Lead and act as the Commercial, and Contracts subject matter expert within Major Projects in the development and delivery of complex high value strategic infrastructure projects • Develop and assist the implementation of the sourcing, negotiation and contracting strategies • Establish and embed contract management processes, manage, monitor & track contract change management procedures and agreements. • Act as the SME in the management of disputes and claims and manage the timely resolution within the contractual framework. • Manage Supplier Relationships including developing and maintaining relationships with key existing suppliers/contractors and identify potential new partners within the supply market. • Monitor Contractors commercial performance drive best practice, identify commercial risks and opportunities, proactively identify potentially cost over-runs and manage risk effectively • Maintain up to date knowledge on best practice in sourcing approaches, • Continually seek and drive improvements and efficiencies • Advise on current and future market capabilities/trends • Assist in the development of the Integrated Procurement Plan, determining efficiency opportunities, irregularities, trends and variances • Contribute to the development of Project Execution strategy and value engineering to help the Project Manager optimise future outcomes and satisfy stakeholder requirements ensuring successful commercial management • Manage, align and coordinate Major Project’s submissions in line with the company’s corporate policy ensuring quality and consistency. • Manage the monitoring & tracking of project and portfolio performance, determine significant trends, variances and irregularities and suggest corrective action • Manage the review of project schedules to identify lead times and project budget/ estimate, outputs and metric impacts Knowledge, Skills and Experience: • A minimum of 10 years’ experience in contract and procurement management of Major Strategic infrastructure projects at both planning and construction phases. • Quantity Surveying degree or equivalent (Preferably Chartered status) • Post Graduate qualification in Construction Law or equivalent desirable. • Good knowledge of contract and construction methodologies, preferred experience with Water, Waste water Infrastructure projects. • Relevant experience in negotiation of change orders and formulating Contract Claims and defence strategies. • High level of knowledge of relevant commercial legislation and procurement regulations • Experience with value engineering as well as trending, claims, forecasting and contractor negotiations. • Experienced in budgeting and resource allocation procedures. • Provide coaching in the development of the technical skills and abilities in others. • Proven stakeholder management skills.
