Key Responsibilities

Team Development

• Leads and communicates all opportunities for continuous improvement • Promote and provide training opportunities for all team members: • Accountable for mid-year and annual appraisals, salary reviews and recruitment activity • Develop and implement competency assessments to be applied within the recruitment process • Work with Operations Management and other Underwriting Support Mangers to develop and implement a targeted development framework for all Underwriting Support Staff • Provide regular, structured systems and process training for team members • Using monthly operational metrics provide targeted training for staff to both increase their knowledge of the books of business, and increase their data input quality scores


• Represent the Underwriting Support and Claims Processing Team at relevant Governance Groups • Coordinate any internal or external audit activities and manage all subsequent team actions • Manage the monthly and compliance reporting such as LAG and LAP reports (if appropriate) • Manage the monthly reporting and compliance requirements of the assigned underwriting lines of business

Team Management

• Manage and set day-to-day workload for team members adjusting priorities accordingly to accommodate seasonal volume variations. • Manage the team’s workload and priorities through the various month close processes • Lead weekly staff feedback and progress meetings • Utilise operational metric forecasts to manage resource needs accordingly • Liaise with the Change Team & Continuous Improvements Team to ensure that: Underwriter information and function requirements are appropriately captured, validated, prioritised and raised, system test documentation is adequate, and; there is sufficient resource availability for scheduled system testing • Ensure that process and procedure documentation accurately reflects the activities and responsibilities of the team and remains current.

Customer Management

• Regularly meet and have open dialogue with the underwriting customers, to ensure: o that service levels are being met o performance and behavior feedback for the Underwriting Support and Claims Processing Team is captured and where necessary, acted upon o data quality issues are identified promptly o new administrative tasks are captured and assessed in a timely manner • Liaise with Branches to manage accounts • Manage and prioritise requests for information related to policy and claims processing For more information on this Insurance related job or other related jobs, contact James Reilly on or to apply, click the button below
