Executive has been retained exclusively to appoint a Chief Operating Officer for our client, a leading global alternative fund manager with over 5 Billion AUM. The ideal candidate will have a strong background of 10 years plus operating at senior director or c-suite level, to lead their centre of excellence operations here in Dublin. Managing various functional teams in a fast paced environment across different asset classes, overseeing delegated and outsourced activities along with a range of related fund governance duties.

The Role and Key Responsibilities:

Joining a great culture where team is everything and senior management are all about the collective goals and able to be hands-on and detail-oriented in problem solving when needed and balancing this with an innate strategic ability and skills to present at board and manage CBI relations. The COO will also ensure continual improvement of business services through managing a number of projects. By reviewing current processes and structures to ensure best practices are applied and effective efficiencies within each department are maximized. • Supporting the CEO of the AIFM and Group Regional COO in achieving the company’s strategic goals and objectives • Ensure adherence to the legal, regulatory and governance frameworks • Ensure robust maintenance and development of operational processes and infrastructure • Lead the adoption of business change arising from new business or new regulation • Oversee local teams in Fund Accounting, Reporting, Legal & Compliance and Risk Management in cooperation with functional leads • Oversee outsourced and delegated middle and back office activities • Maintain strong communications with relevant stakeholders including development of KPIs and reporting against same • Strong escalation point for issues arising in daily business • Promote a continuous culture of high performance, team career progression and continuous improvement with client centricity at the heart of leading out the teams. • Plan, coordinate and execute the Operations budget process

Ideal COO Profile and Background:

• Minimum 10 years operating at senior management level in a fund accounting, middle office / operations function. Sound experience working within an AIFM with Private Debt / Private Equity /Real Estate skills. • Strong mentorship and leadership skill with experience in leading teams of 20 plus ideally. • Experience in operating in a rapidly growing/changing environment. • Proven operational and strategic mindset. • Ability to prioritise work and effectively delegate efficiently and support teams to be more empowered and equipped to handle growing mandates and complexity of technical work surrounding their functional roles / outputs. • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications, good hand on technology developments. • Ideally pre-approved by CBI in PCF role.
