Great opportunity to join this leading RegTech global firm as their Interim Director of Privacy and Risk (11 month FTC). With 800+ staff globally and a fantastic team of over 350 here in Ireland, their client base is hugely impressive with many of the tier 1 investment banks, asset managers and insures. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Director of Risk & Privacy will also act as the Registered Data Protection Officer for to ensure oversight of its risk governance framework. With an amazing truly collaborative culture, this person will work closely with regional peers and their global commercial teams. Start date ideally Feb / March 2021. The role will require extensive experience in Risk Management and the ability to respond to evolving Privacy related requirements in multiple jurisdictions.

Key role:

• Assess and mitigate risks, and report on these to the Governance, Risk and compliance Committee (focus on technology, operational, regulatory, privacy , third-party and business continuity risks). • Oversee and manage their annual Risk Plan and responsibility for conducting risk-based reviews of systems, processes, and technology. • Overseeing risk related procedures and maintaining in line with industry standards. • Escalation point for all Risk and Privacy related measures. • Lead all Risk and Privacy aspects of the RFP process and negotiate contractual DPAs. • Act as interim DPO and inform, advise, and support the key stakeholders with their obligations under GDPR & EU and national DP Law, and the interpretation or application of the data protection rules. • Providing advice and instructions on how to conduct Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs). • Monitor compliance with Privacy Regulations and, with other Union or Member State data protection provisions and with the policies of the controller or processor in relation to the protection of personal data. • Awareness-raising and training of staff involved in processing operations, and the related audit process. • Manage incidents and breaches and liaise with employees, affected data subjects, and DPC as required. • Have decision-making responsibility for security measures of data processing. • Cooperate with the relevant Supervisory Authority (responding to his requests about investigations, complaint handling, inspections, etc). • Production of detailed MI (Risk & Privacy orientated) for the Board and Executive Team. • Coordinating and conducting data privacy audits. • Additional duties/tasks as assigned.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• 10+ years’ experience in risk management with specific emphasis on Data Protection • Strong knowledge of EU data privacy and data protection regulation, and a good understanding of other major privacy frameworks and evolving legislation worldwide • Proven track record and significant experience in Risk Management within a technology or financial institution setting. • Understanding of data governance initiatives and best practices. • Experience in recommending and implementing improvements on a range of data privacy and data protection issues. • Excellent analytical skills. • Motivated and curious with the ability to prioritise commitments. • 3rd Level Qualification with ideally a recognised privacy qualification and commitment to CPD (e.g., CDPO, CIPP/E) required • Team Management Experience required • Stakeholder management, influencing, and facilitation For more details on this Interim Director of Privacy and Risk, please contact Estelle Davis on 01 662 1000 or [email protected].
