Brightwater Executive has been exclusively retained by a global Financial Services organisation based in Dublin, in the search for their new Group Head of Controllers. As the group has a diversified book of entities, the ideal candidate will have extensive senior leadership experience running a finance function within an investment / corporate bank, asset manager, aviation leasing / transportation group or Big 4. This role will report directly to their Group CFO and will be a key liaison and support with presentations and key reporting to the board and their various committees. Overseeing, and leading, a highly skilled and culturally diverse team, this role offers huge scope, progression, and challenge for the right candidate.

Key responsibilities will be to:

• Ensure strong engagement and collaboration across finance function (covering financial and management reporting, tax, investment, and treasury). • Provide a value-add finance business partnership model with commercial, sales and other cross functional teams. • Lead and manage the efficient and accurate production of half year / year end accounts for all entities and consolidated accounts. • Key support on board reporting and the analysis of budget and forecasts vs actuals. • Manage relations with the external auditors and key regulators along with internal stakeholder relations with board members etc. • Ensure proactive development of finance systems, policies and procedures, capturing a culture of continuous improvement. • Mentoring and leading a large and highly experience team of finance professionals.

The Ideal Candidate for this role:

• Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/ CIMA/ CPA) with 10 years’ + post qualified experience as a minimum • Excellent technical accounting knowledge. IFRS knowledge is essential with ideally experience in other GAAPs, eg. US GAAP would be highly desirable. • Experience in reporting to boards / risk committees etc and managing key stakeholder relations at C-Suite level • Adept in leading and motivating teams of 10 – 20 staff, across different locations. • Due to current and future strategic growth plans of their group entities, knowledge of Chinese GAAP, or similar would be advantageous. • Clear and natural communicator and leader of teams. • Investment banking, Alternative Asset Management, Shipping, Aircraft Leasing or Big 4 Financial Services Audit and / or Advisory experience
