Lean Process Improvement Project Manager

Our client is a leading and very well-known company with offices in Dublin. They have an immediate requirement for a Senior Project and Lean Process Improvement Manager to manage the upgrade of their current ERP system to include the optimisation of targeted processes using lean. The role is initially for an 18-month fixed term contract but could ultimately become permanent. The Role: • Lead and manage project team from initiation through to go-live and safe transition to business units and IT support. Establish appropriate governance structures at the outset of the project. • Early identification of key performance measures to manage the project and instil a rigorous set of interim checkpoints/milestones to ensure successful project outcomes. • Create and manage project plans with buy-in from all functional leads. Resource planning key. • Proactively assess project issues/risks and facilitate mitigation plans to ensure project success. • Present status updates and report on potential issues and mitigation plans to the steering group. • Deploy lean methodologies on targeted processes to drive meaningful improvement. • Provide teaching and coaching to transfer lean skills and methodologies into the organisation. The ideal candidate will have: • Proven ability to independently manage a large-scale project end-to-end, using well established project management methodologies and with a high degree of skill. • Proven experience a must at a senior level in managing an ERP upgrade end to end, preferably to Microsoft Business Central or another ERP of similar scope, functionality and scale. • Proven ability to drive targeted process improvements within the context of an ERP upgrade using lean methodologies. Ideal Candidate Background: • Senior role in the implementation or upgrade of a business wider ERP system a must. • Proven track record of 8+ successfully managing the delivery of complex IT, business facing projects. • Dealing with and managing third-party consultants in a project implementation. • Ability to act as the business change manager (selected processes) as well as a project manager. • Ability to quickly identify ERP and supporting process limitations and drive improvement. • Strong people management skills within a project structure. • Strong organisational skills. • Strong analysis, problem solving (DMAIC), sound judgment and decision-making skills. • Excellent communication skills with all stakeholders with proven ability to positively influence. • Managing project budgetary requirements and constraints. • Proven ability to use MS Project and MS Planner tools. • Ability to display a high degree of professionalism in dealing with senior management, project team members, external consultants and all employees that support the projects at any level. • The energy, enthusiasm and drive to make it happen. Ability to handle setbacks and challenges productively. • A team player who has the ability to motivate others, making it a fun and learning experience while getting the job done. • Enjoys working in an innovative environment where the focus is on continuous improvement and the challenge to make it better. • Comfortable working in an adaptive role and leading others through a series of change management activities. • Ability to define the AS-IS versus TO-BE business processes and provide the leadership, direction and team focus to deliver the process transition. Qualifications • Bachelor's degree or higher preferred; ideally in a related discipline • Lean/Six Sigma qualification preferred. • PMP certification an advantage.
