Senior Technical Analyst

My client, a leading multinational requires a Senior Technical Analyst to join their growing ICT Department on a permanent basis, reporting to the Head of ICT Solutions. The ideal candidate will be responsible for working with the Business to support the digital transformation initiatives. This role has been identified as key to support how technology becomes a core element of their strategy. They are in a highly acquisitive state at the moment and have plans to double in size over the next 2/3 years.

Responsibilities

• Understand fully the Systems Interaction and information flows as defined in the Enterprise Architecture document. Ensure all transformation projects adhere to a strict change control process to minimise and adverse effects to the company environment and its end users. • Become a super-user on core applications; Unit 4’s Agresso (ERP) and Innovise’s Timegate (Scheduling). • Responsible for change management, oversight and approvals, based on understanding the impact, value and quality of proposed and executed systems changes. • Early engagement during new development projects to ensure production readiness, primary focus on quality of system performance, monitoring, disaster recovery and business continuity capabilities. • Build services relationships with Managers, Services Directors and Technical teams. Work with the business in understanding “operational” requirements and bringing them to the attention of management. • Build services relationships with Business Application Administrators, to brief them on upgrades, changes & “as-is” procedures for further dissemination throughout the business. • Work with Software Developers to undertake strategic planning in relation to application system upgrades, new releases and migration to new systems both on premise and in the cloud. • Providing level 2/3 administration/support work to MS SQL databases & writing SQL scripts to facilitate the diagnosis and resolution of issues in real time • Support existing in-house web applications (RestAPI/PHP/MSSQL) • Work closely with Software developers to transition existing SSIS jobs to utilise Rest APIs • Ensuring high levels of performance, availability, and security of our production databases • Working with Business Analysts on database design and implementing changes as part of the normal software development process • Co-ordinating team resources to effectively manage projects, incidents and problems • Mentoring/leading other team members • Learning and adopting the latest technologies and tools and making recommendations

Experience Required:

• Minimum 10 years of experience in an IT support role. • At least three years track record as a SQL Server DBA including performance monitoring and performance tuning of existing databases • Good working knowledge of Rest APIs and integrations with MSSQL • People and team management experience is essential.

Desirables:
